Sources exclusively told us earlier today that La La will be filing for divorce from husband, NBA baller Carmelo Anthony after 11 years of marriage.
While it’s no secret their relationship has been rocky over the past few years–with La La separating from big Melo in 2019— things had appeared to be on the mend up when La La revealed she and Melo quarantined together during the pandemic.
Things seemed good between the couple until recent months when rumors began swirling around that Melo had a side piece.
The divorce news actually comes on the heels of some TEA tea as Melo was reportedly boo’d up with a woman believed to be Lee Daniels’ niece this past week. The rumors circulated on social media and La La kept it cute until this bomb dropped today
The couple’s relationship has been plagued with cheating rumors even before they wed in 2010. The two were dating in the early 2000s and became engaged on Christmas Day 2004.
Their son, Kiyan Carmelo Anthony, was born in 2007 and the couple married three years later on July 10, 2010. If y’all remember, the ceremony was filmed by VH1 for a wedding special called “La La’s Full Court Wedding.”
Those were indeed happier times but only time will tell if these two will actually go through with this divorce. In case you forgot, the two tried to split for the first time in 2017 after it was rumored that Carmelo Anthony got a dancer pregnant.
They moved past that point, just like they initially moved past the 2019 separation, so it’s unclear what was the straw that really broke the camel’s back because our sources say this time sis is THROUGH.
If she goes through with the divorce, La La will be joining bestie Kim Kardashian, who is also in the middle of a divorce battle from estranged husband Kanye West, in the single life.
