Lamar Odom’s daughter Destiny Odom spoke exclusively with People magazine and revealed that her father’s high-profile marriage to now ex-wife Khloe Kardashian put a strain on their relationship.
“When your dad’s an NBA player that’s already enough, but when he’s marrying a reality TV star, things are so public and you don’t have a private life anymore,” Destiny said. “It was crazy that my dad was getting married to this woman that I used to watch religiously,” she added. “It was such a whirlwind, really.”
She mentioned that the marriage created a lot of problems for her in school, and often made her the target of online hate.
“There were regular inside comments at school. And when his addiction became public, then it became a social media thing. Even people that I thought were my friends were saying stuff on social media,” she shared. “It was humiliating.”
Despite Khloe rushing to Lamar’s bedside after the apparent overdose, Tiffany amongst other people in Lamar’s circle were blindsided by her sudden presence in his life again. “A lot of people in our circle were confused,” Destiny admitted. “Their relationship is very toxic.”
Destiny has not seen her father in a few months but claims he is a lot more open and apologetic since his ordeal. Tiffany has an interest in fashion and is currently taking a break from school. Overall, she is just happy her father is on the right track again. “I’ve had conversations with him just letting him know that I want him to get help,” she said. “But at the end of the day he’s a grown man and you have to want it for yourself.”
