LAPD cops feel that the release of the film “Straight Outta Compton” is straight out inconvenience for them and they are PISSED!
Reviews of the highly anticipated movie have been off the charts but L.A. Police feel like timing couldn’t have been any worse and in turn compromises their safety.
TMZ spoke with a few who said the movie portrays the LAPD officers as “beating machines” who were brutalizing innocent citizens in the inner city.
Dennis Zine, who was the former Former L.A. City Councilman as well as a former LAPD cop told TMZ, “It’s a terrible time to release a movie like this. It adds fuel to the fire for hating cops.”
Other cops are bitter about the timing of the release. They say they’re especially upset because they feel a lot of time and energy was invested into creating bonds in areas where police abuse was once prevalent.
Some of the officers went as far as specifically blaming Universal, they feel that the studio is putting profits above the safety of the officers who make L.A. safe.
In a nutshell, all of the officers say the timing is awful, blaming the current state of police brutality across the country. They ultimately feel that if Universal was determined to release the movie, they should have waited –assuming and or suggesting that there would be a decline in police brutality.
Room Mates, what are your thoughts?! Did SOC hit theaters at a bad time?
