If you were wondering about when ‘Verzuz’ would feature its next R&B battle, your prayers have been answered courtesy of Xscape and SWV.
Caught outside by TMZ cameras, Xscape lead singer LaTocha Scott was all smiles, as she officially confirmed that on May 8th Xscape will go hit-for-hit against SWV in the very first girl group battle, with all members in attendance. If you’re a die-hard ‘Verzuz’ fan then you know that both groups have continuously been brought up by fans to participate in the viral musical trip down memory lane—and they finally got their wish.
In her brief interview, LaTocha also said that initially when Xscape was first approached about participating in ‘Verzuz,’ there were talks about them doing a male/female R&B group battle against Jodeci. However, that has obviously shifted and now the group will go up against their fellow 90s R&B rivals SWV.
