A few months before popping out alongside Rohan Marley, the singer made headlines at Essence Fest. As The Shade Room previously reported, in July, reports and social media accounts surfaced alleging that Hill took the stage at Essence Fest two hours behind her scheduled start time of 12:35 a.m.
However, the chatter prompted Hill to speak out, clarifying that she wasn’t late for her set, per The Shade Room. Instead, she explained that “production delays” pushed her performance back.
“this is not the first time production delays have delayed my performances. This IS however the first time a promoter has acknowledged the slip up on their end (thank you Essence!) and this is the last time Ill allow production challenges to look like the fault is mine alone, when they arent,” she partially wrote on social media, seemingly taking a jab at prior criticism she’s received for believed tardiness.
