Lawyer For 5-Year-Old Girl Injured In Britt Reid Car Accident Says, She “Likely Has Permanent Brain Damage” (Video )

Roomies, the Lawyer of 5-year-old Ariel Young, involved in a car accident with former Kansas City Assistant coach Britt Reid last month, has given us an update about her health. As we previously reported, Britt was identified as the Dodge Ram truck driver involved in the accident during Super Bowl weekend. During the segment on Good Morning America, Ariel’s Lawyer, Tom Porto, explained that Ariel’s mom, aunt, and 4-year-old cousin had pulled over to the side of a highway to help a 19-year-old family member whose car had run out of gas. According to police, Britt was driving at high speed when his Ram struck the first car.

According to reports from CNN affiliate KSHB at the time of the accident, a responding officer said that Britt told them he had consumed “two to three” drinks after the officer observed an odor of alcohol and his eyes being bloodshot red. In addition, he told the officer that he takes the prescription drug Adderall. Tom continued to speak, detailing Ariel’s health. Tom said, “She’s awake, which is a huge development. She likely has permanent brain damage that she will endure for the rest of her life. She’s not walking — it’s a sad, sad, sad story.” He continued saying that he is going to be advocating that Britt receives severe charges and sentencing. “We don’t have the toxicology back. I don’t know what it is going to be, “ said Tim. “What I do know are the statements that he made to police that night. If you have two or three drinks, and then you get behind the wheel of a car, you are likely over the legal limit.”

During the interview, they showed exclusive photos of the vehicles involved in the accident obtained by ABC News that was horrendous. Britt’s truck was completely totaled, and the two cars that police say he ran into — including Ariel’s backseat, were flattened and unrecognizable. Currently, Britt hasn’t been charged with any crime as the investigation is still ongoing.
