Just over two months after Bronny James went into cardiac arrest, LeBron James is providing an update on how his superstar son is doing.

LeBron Says His Firstborn Is “Doing Extremely Well”
The Los Angeles Lakers star addressed the matter on Monday (Oct. 2) during the team’s media day. Early on during the press conference, a reporter asked LeBron how his firstborn — who turns 19 later this week — was doing since going into cardiac arrest on July 24.
In turn, LeBron confirmed that “Bronny’s doing extremely well” and is set to soon return to the University of Southern California (USC) basketball court.

“He has began his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates in USC.”
He continued, noting that Bronny had a “successful” surgery and is surrounded by his loved ones’ support. Of course, he also shared that the entire summer has been quite a “whirlwind” for the family.
“[It was] a successful surgery that he had, but he’s on the up-and-up. It’s definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer. But the best thing we have is each other, and we stuck behind each other and gave Bronny strength throughout the whole process.”
Bronny hasn’t broken his silence on the situation, and he doesn’t appear to be active on Instagram at the moment.

Bronny Went Into Cardiac Arrest A Year After Another USC Athlete Suffered A Similar Scare
As The Shade Room reported, Bronny James went into cardiac arrest during basketball practice at USC over the summer.
Within a statement, a spokesperson for the James family confirmed that Bronny was “in stable condition.”
“Medical staff was able to treat Bronny and take him to the hospital. He is now in stable condition and no longer in ICU.”
Within the statement, LeBron and Savannah James expressed “their deepest thanks and appreciation to the USC medical and athletic staff for their incredible work and dedication to the safety of their athletes.”
Harrowingly, Bronny’s situation emerged about a year after Vincent Iwuchukwu went into cardiac arrest during a freshman basketball workout. Following the July 2022 incident, he made his return in early 2023.
