A$AP Rocky‘s criminal assault trial has officially kicked off and the rapper is facing some high stakes. The father of two has been accused of assaulting his former friend, A$AP Relli, with a semiautomatic weapon. Furthermore, the rapper previously turned down a plea deal which would have left him serving 180 days in prison. Now, Rocky is reportedly facing up to 20 years in prison.

More Details On The Alleged Incident Involving A$AP Rocky
According to Burns-Tucker, prosecutors believe that in November 2021, Rocky and Relli were involved in an altercation in Hollywood, California. Relli allegedly believed that Rocky refused to pay for the funeral of another A$AP mob member named Josh. Then, when the pair were face to face, prosecutors say Rocky pulled out a semiautomatic gun and fired twice in Relli’s direction.
This incident reportedly left Relli with grazed knuckles.
Per the host, dozens of Los Angeles police officers responded to the scene of the incident. No officers reportedly noted finding evidence of a shooting. However, by the end of that evening, Relli had reportedly returned to the area himself and discovered shell casings.

To date, surveillance footage has surfaced of what’s thought to be the alleged altercation. However, Burns-Tucker notes that the footage appears to be unclear, and doesn’t clearly show Rocky and Relli as subjects.
