Lil Wayne shook fans Thursday when he revealed he had a “great” meeting with Donald Trump and posted a pic to prove it.
Weezy was grinning from ear to ear while standing next to Trump, who was holding a thumbs up, following their meeting in which the two discussed the “platinum plan” among other issues.
Lil Wayne not only shared a pic, but essentially bragged about Trump and his work in criminal reform while also talking up the platinum plan, which promises to pump hundreds of billions of dollars into Black communities to provide better jobs and education.
Trump was so pressed, he even hit the retweet button on Wayne’s tweet, which many took as an endorsement though nowhere did Weezy say that he was supporting Trump in the upcoming presidential election, even though that’s what many felt was implied.

“Just had a great meeting with @realdonaldtrup @potus besides what he’s done so far with criinal reform, the platinum plan is going to give the community real ownership,” Lil Wayne said. “He listened to what we had to say today and assured he will and can get it done.”
Fans on Twitter seemed to be upset by Weezy’s move, calling him out for meeting with Trump and calling the move a “photo op” for Trump. But fans shouldn’t be too surprised by Wayne as this isn’t the first time he’s been called out for being tone-deaf on social justice issues within the past year.
Just a few months ago, in response to the police killing of George Floyd, Lil Wayne spoke out in defense of police officers, saying they weren’t all to blame for the injustice. He also revealed in that interview that it was a white cop who saved his life.
