6 Times Drake Showed Love To His "Rightful Wife" Sexyy Red

Drake and Sexyy Red‘s relationship has prompted chatter on the internet since they initially met in July 2023. Most recently, Joe Budden even seemed to imply that Drake is getting paid for his connection with the rapper.

So, for the record, here are a couple of times the Toronto-bred rapper has shown Sexyy Red love.

July 2023: Drakes Meets His “Rightful Wife” Sexyy Red

As The Shade Room previously reported, Drake initially met Sexyy Red in 2023 while city-hopping on his “It’s All A Blur” tour. On July 19, 2023, the rapper’s tour made a stop in Brooklyn, New York, at the Barclays Center.

During his performance, the rapper apparently spotted Red in the crowd and not only gave her a shoutout. But he also made sure to plant a kiss on her cheek.

Later that evening, Drizzy took to his Instagram Story to share his and Red’s link-up on social media. The rapper posted a photo of him sitting beside the Sexyy Red and added a few words.

“Just met my rightful wife @sexyyred,” he wrote before adding. “If my girl see ya’ll backstage being thirsty it’s gonna get smokey.”

February 2024: Drake & Taps The Rapper For Their First-Ever Music Video Link-Up

Then, on Valentine’s Day, Drake released the music video for ‘Rich Baby Daddy.’ To note, the single features SZA and Sexyy Red, so naturally, Drizzy made sure the St. Louis rapper was there when the cameraman yelled action.

In the video, Red appears as Drake’s pregnant wife.

The video then showcases the pair throwing a house party as SZA attends. Of course, Drizzy didn’t pass up the opportunity to show Red some affection and dropped some kisses on her belly throughout the video.

Additionally, the video even concludes with Red giving birth to her and Drake’s child.

Now just to be clear, the pregnant part was real. Sexyy revealed her pregnancy in October, and in January she opened up about her decision to hide it while on tour. As for the identity of her child’s dad, Red is trying to keep it under wraps!

March 2024: Drake Drops Racks & Stacks On Sexyy Red

As The Shade Room previously reported, Sexyy Red and Drake made headlines once again. At the time, the St. Louis rapper took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to gush over her “rich friends.”

Additionally, Red shared a thank you message for Drake.

“I’m glad I got rich friends that be turning me up and thinking about me. Thank you, Drake. I appreciate you,” Red initially wrote in the caption of her video tweet.

 

 

To note, the rapper has since updated her caption to: “4 Chanel’s 4 A Bad Bthc Thank You @Drake…”

In the video, Red showed off a wad of cash and four Chanel bags that Drizzy gifted her.

Additionally, Red was so hyped about her gifts that she returned to social media the next day to share another message thanking Drake via Instagram.

March 2024: Drake Drops Bars For Sexyy Red On Instagram

Toward the end of March, Drake took to Instagram with his own message about Sexyy Red. The ‘6 God’ rapper appeared to drop Bars about his collaborator and friend as he shared his admiration of her.

“Fine line between iconic and demonic and shorty struts it she doesn’t just walk it,” he wrote in his Instagram post.

Additionally, Drake included two photos of him and Sexyy Red.

March 2024: Drake Flys Sexyy Red Private

Last week, Sexyy Red took to Instagram to share photos of another lavish gift Drizzy sent her way. The rapper apparently gifted Red with a private jet to fly her to New York.

“When @champagnepapi send you ah private jet to New York 🛩️👌🏾…” Red wrote in the caption of her photo.

March 2024: Drake Pops Out As Sexyy Red's Man In Her Latest Music Video

On March 29, 2024, Sexyy Red released her latest music video, ‘Get It Sexyy.‘ In the clip, she initially appears alongside fellow rapper Soulja Boy. However, as the video approaches the one-minute and 45-second mark, she’s joined by Drizzy.

Additionally, the pair appear to be on a date at the skating rink before things briefly go left.

Sexyy Red and Drake have definitely played up on the romance antics with their friendship. However, Red has previously made it clear that she and the ‘6 God’ are just friends.

In July 2023, Red sat down for an interview with Rolling Loud and explained that the initial kiss she received from Drake was “nothing.”

“It’s nothing,” she explained. “N****s love Sexyy — I mean, they been loving me. It’s nothing… I f**k with Drake [but], I mean, I been getting n****s all my life, so it’s not a shocker.”
