83rd Golden Globe Winners: Teyana Taylor Scores First Win With “Best Supporting Actress”
According to USA Today, Teyana Taylor won “Best Supporting Actress” for her role in ‘One Battle After Another.’ The film also starred Leonardo DiCaprio. Per the outlet, Taylor’s performance landed her in the category alongside Emily Blunt, Elle Fanning, Ariana Grande, Amy Madigan, and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas. Taylor ultimately took home the Globe and shed a few tears during her acceptance speech.
“I almost didn’t even write a speech because I didn’t think I was [going to win]. Thank you to the Golden Globe voters for seeing me and reminding me that purpose always finds its moment,” Taylor stated before sharing a potent message for little Brown girls watching. “… Our softness is not a liability… depth is not too much. Our light does not need permission to shine. We belong in every room we walk into. Our voices matter, and our dreams deserve space.”

Sinners Wins "Best Cinematic & Box Office Achievement" — But Viewers Say Was Snubbed In Other Major Categories
‘Sinners,’ the April 2025 film released by director Ryan Coogler, was nominated for six Golden Globe awards. These categories included “Best Original Score,” “Best Actor in a Drama Motion Picture” (for Michael B. Jordan’s leading double role), “Best Screenplay of a Motion Picture,” “Best Drama Motion Picture,” “Best Director of a Motion Picture” (for Ryan Coogler), and “Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.”
Per MovieWeb, the Golden Globes awarded the film “Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” and “Best Original Score” (not televised). See Coogler’s acceptance speech for “Best Cinematic and Box Office Achievement” below.

While Coogler was apparently satisfied with the film’s win, many users on social media were not. By the time the award show ended, users realized that despite the plethora of nominations, ‘Sinners’ had only scored two wins — snubbing Michael B. Jordan of “Best Actor” and Ryan Coogler of “Best Director.”
Meanwhile, fans noticed — similar to the recent Critics’ Choice Awards — that Timothée Chalamet walked home with the “Best Actor” award for the ‘Marty Supreme’ film, which was only recently released on December 25, 2025.
