2024 WNBA Draft: The Ladies Pulled Up In Style

Angel Reese was one of the first ballers to take to Instagram to show off her ensemble for the evening. According to WWD, the “Bayou Barbie” rocked a Bronx and Banco backless gown, which also featured a cowl neck and “dramatic train.”

Additionally, Reese rocked 3D-painted nails and topped off her look with a “sparkling” mouth grill.

However, Reese wasn’t the only baller who arrived at the event in style. Kamilla Cardoso opted for a red pantsuit, while Caitlin Clark donned nude Prada shades to match her creme ensemble.

The First Round Draft Picks: Caitlin Clark Was Chosen No. 1

According to The Athletic, Caitlin Clark, who previously played for the Iowa Hawkeyes, was chosen as the first draft pick at Monday’s event. The outlet adds that Clark was selected by the Indiana Fever.

Clark reportedly scored 3,951 points with the Hawkeyes, which the outlet notes is “the most ever in NCAA men’s or women’s Division I history.” Additionally, The Athletic reports that Clark’s accolades while with the Hawkeyes were so astonishing that her jersey was recently retired.

Kamilla Cardoso Was Chosen Third

Shortly after Clark received her draft, Kamilla Cardoso followed suit. The Brazilian native was chosen by the Chicago Sky. Additionally, she shared her gratitude after the announcement.

“… [I want to] give my family a better life, so I’m just so thankful that I was able to be here,” she explained.

Rickea Jackson Was Chosen Fourth

Tennessee’s Rickea Jackson was chosen fourth in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Furthermore, she will join the Los Angeles Sparks.

Angel Reese Was Chosen Seventh

As the evening continued, Reese was chosen seventh in the first round of draft picks. The “Barbie Bayou” will join the Chicago Sky along with Cardoso.

Kamilla Cardoso, Dawn Staley & Angel Reese Speak Out After The Drafts

After the draft, Cardoso sat down with reports and spoke about her and Reese being drafted to the Chicago Sky. As The Shade Room previously reported, Cardoso and Reese’s former teams were involved in an altercation during a match in March.

“It’s going to be great. She’s a great player, and I’m a great player, and nobody’s gonna get any rebounds on us,” she explained.
