Ricky Alvarez & Ariana Grande: An Old Love Renewed
Sometimes getting a new man means spinning the block on an old one! That appears to be the case in Ariana Grande’s current love life. A photo dump shared on Monday (Nov. 2) included multiple shots showing Ricky Alvarez. In the very first photo, Ricky and Ari are embracing in a wooded area, staring into each other’s eyes. Another shot shows her kissing his forehead. The photos appear to confirm a rekindled romance between Ariana and her former background dancer, more than 10 years after they met on tour in 2015.
So here’s the recap on them. By May 2016, sis was writing songs about Ricky, namely ‘Moonlight,’ per Billboard. She said at the time that she was “a very happy girl.” Something later changed. By July 2016, they had ended the relationship. Two years later, in 2018, she name-dropped him in ‘Thank U, Next,’ saying “Wrote some songs about Ricky / Now I listen and laugh.”
Those are the same lyrics she switched up in July 2026 while on tour. Singing instead, “I know he’s still got my back” and “And they still really slap” for the second bar. She did that at two Austin shows. There was also, “We always find our way back,” a lyric change that really got the rekindled rumors going after they were spotted together Fourth of July weekend. In August, she soft-launched Ricky Alvarez in an IG post, and in September, she sang about trying to make him “her last.”
Now, we’re here. Will they make it down the aisle? To parenthood? A grand love story? Ariana ‘Keep A Man’ Grande gon’ let us know soon enough — in the lyrics or with the next apple of her eye.

He later directed his message at Nathan.
“Nathan may be a top bloke or a sweet person, but what he did was just completely wrong,” Brooks reportedly tweeted in 2013. “He interfered with my life and did not respect my relationship; his actions caused me to not be able to sleep at night and not see the world as a beautiful place.” He added, “…When you hold her hand you better hold it tight because you’re holding my world.”
Ariana Grande later responded on then-Twitter, saying he warned her that he’d “make [her] look bad to the entire world” if they didn’t rekindle. She told Jai she planned to carry herself with “class and dignity.” Then added:
“Know your truth… no one can ever take that away from you. It’s always ok to defend yourself. My fans know what kind of person I am. Never let any man discredit u or the values you were raised with. I’m finally happy. Words can’t hurt me anymore.”
