Boosie Celebrates Being Cancer Free While Paying Tribute To His Late Surgeon

On Tuesday, the rapper took to Instagram to share the update with fans.

Boosie shared a photo of himself holding documents against his head as he leaned forward with his eyes closed.

The rapper also shared a caption along with the photo of himself.

“Stayed up all night praying for these results #CANCERFREE GOD GREAT BUT HE TEST YOUR FAITH ALL THE TIME ‼️”

Additionally, Boosie explained why he referenced his faith being tested.

“I WAS READY TO SEE MY CANCER DOCTOR/SURGEON TODAY BUT I WAS TOLD HE PASSED LAST YEAR 🥲…”

The rapper recalled the memory of his late cancer doctor and shared his gratitude.

“THANK U DR.WOOD FOR ALWAYS MAKING ME LAUGH WHEN I WAS DOWN U WERE THE BEST…”

Additionally, the rapper also recalled an emotional moment he shared with the surgeon.

“I REMEMBER U RUBBIN MY HEAD WHEN I WAS CRYIN BEFORE SURGERY N YOU ASK ME WHY I WAS CRYING N I TOLD U I WAS THINKING ABOUT ALL THE WRONG IVE DONE N MY LIFE N YOU SAID MR BOOSIE GOD FORGIVES N DONT WORRY IVE DONE MORE SURGERIES THAN YOUVE DONE CONCERTS…”

Boosie concluded his post by acknowledging his hurt over the doctor’s death.

Instagram users quickly reacted to Boosie’s health update in The Shade Room’s comment section.

One user, @biggsteppakayy2x, shared they didn’t know the rapper had an ongoing battle with cancer.

“damnnn he be making all dese jokes i didn’t even know he ever had cancer”

While another user, @dymeriley_2u, also commented on the rapper’s humor.

“Some ppl who joke the most are going through so much pain behind the smiles. Laughter becomes therapy. Bless his heart 💙”

A third user, @so_above_it, also paid homage to Boosie’s late surgeon.

“Doctors and Nurses matter man ❤️ far beyond healing the body or even the mind you can heal a person spirit ❤️‍🩹 . RIP Dr Wood . And so happy for Boosie 🙌”

As The Shade Room previously reported, the rapper also made a similar announcement in 2021.

“IM CANCER FREE. #tearofjoy Thanks to everybody said a prayer for me #GODISGREAT.”

In 2015, the rapper revealed that he was diagnosed with kidney cancer.

“I got an MRI, motherf**ker came back like, ‘We found something on your kidney. You got cancer.’ And that’s when they told me. That was the first time I found out I had it.”

At the time, The Shade Room also reported that the rapper had been previously diagnosed with diabetes.
