Iowa Hawkeyes athlete Caitlin Clark is letting it be known that she’s siding with Angel Reese as the LSU star continues to be the center of conversation online.

Caitlin Clark Says Trash-Talking Is Part Of The Sport
Clark’s comments came during a virtual appearance on ESPN’s Outside the Lines, and she was asked to address the backlash that Reese got after making prideful gestures at the opposing team during the NCAA championship game.
While some critics slammed Reese as a “f**king idiot” and a “classless piece of s**t,” Clark—who has made the same gesture during a past game—says that trash-talking is simply part of the sport.

As a result, she says Angel Reese should not be criticized.
“I don’t think Angel should be criticized at all. No matter which way it goes, she should never be criticized for what she did. I’m just one that competes, and she competed. I think everybody knew there was gonna be a little trash talk in the entire tournament.”
Clark then noted, “LSU deserves [the win]. They played so well, and—like I said—I’m a big fan of [Angel Reese].”

Clark Politely Declined Jill Biden's Invitation: 'LSU Should Enjoy That Moment For Them'
While on the subject of Clark’s commentary, we should add that she also chimed in on the Jill Biden situation.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Jill Biden shared that she was so impressed with the game that she was considering inviting both teams to the White House, when usually only the winner gets the honor.
In turn, Angel Reese slammed Biden’s suggestion as “a joke.” Beneath a post on The Shade Room’s Instagram page, she also commented, “WE NOT COMING. period.”
Regarding how Caitlin Clark feels about the prospective invitation, she noted that LSU deserves all the glory.
“I don’t think runner-ups usually go to the White House. I think LSU should enjoy that moment for them.”
She added, “They deserve to go there. Maybe I could go to the White House on different terms, but that’s for LSU…They should enjoy every single second of being a champion, so I think that’s theirs to do.”
Before wrapping, Clark was sure to note that she appreciates that Jill Biden watched the game and was “supporting the greatness of women’s basketball.”
“I appreciate the First Lady being in the house and watching both teams and supporting the greatness of women’s basketball.”

Various Other Noteworthy Figures Have Spoken Out In Support Of Angel Reese
Of course, Caitlin Clark is far from the only person to speak out in support of Angel Reese, aka the “Bayou Barbie.”
Prominent figures like Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Stephen A. Smith, and Shannon Sharpe all spoke out in support of Reese, as did many others.
In fact, the conversation surrounding Reese prompted “Black Women” to begin trending on Twitter, as people were definitely here for the LSU athlete relishing in her accomplishment.
