Diddy has pled not guilty to the charges. However, his request for bail has been denied twice since his arrest. Furthermore, on Friday, September 20, the 54-year-old’s lawyer revealed he’s been placed on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, New York, as he awaits trial. Additionally, on the same day, footage surfaced of the father of seven being placed in cuffs.

Now, The Shade Room is running down the list of celebrities who have publicly reacted to the 54-year-old’s federal indictment.

Celebrities React To Diddy’s Arrest & Federal Indictment: Aubrey O’Day

Aubrey O’Day, former Bad Boy artist and member of Danity Kane, reacted to Diddy’s arrest on Monday evening, per The Shade Room. O’Day took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to initially repost a tweet that read, “@AubreyODay just keeps getting vindicated.”

After a series of retweets, O’Day broke her silence on the topic with her own words.

“The purpose of Justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter. Women never get this,” she wrote. “I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing.”

In a separate retweet, O’Day seemingly shared more words in reference to Diddy’s alleged actions.

Stephen A. Smith

Meanwhile, Stephen A. Smith has reported on Diddy’s circumstances during a recent airing of his self-titled show, ‘The Stephen A. Smith Show.’

#1

In an initial clip shared via YouTube on Tuesday, September 17, Smith detailed his thoughts on Diddy’s arrest and indictment, calling it a “serious” matter.

Additionally, the host explained that the public “knew this was coming,” seemingly referring to the bombshell sexual abuse, assault, and trafficking lawsuit filed against Diddy by his ex-girlfriend, Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura, in November 2023 and the subsequent surveillance footage, which showed him assaulting her. However, now that he’s heard the charges against Diddy, he believes the 54-year-old is “in a world of trouble.”

#2

Ultimately, Smith explained that he doesn’t know if the accusations in the federal indictment against Diddy are true. However, he “can’t deny the potential reality” presented by the federal charges.

Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy

Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy began reporting on Diddy’s arrest during a segment of ‘The Breakfast Club’ radio show published via YouTube on September 17.

On September 18, the pair discussed Diddy’s request for bond being initially denied. During the conversation, DJ Envy explained that he believes Diddy should be granted his request for bail.

#5

“The fact that he’s putting up $50 million — the fact that he’s putting up his family’s passports, his mom’s crib… the fact that if you look at his daughters… they don’t have a mom — they’re staying with a family friend — so yeah, I think he should get one,” Envy said.

Ultimately, the DJ referenced other celebrities reportedly receiving bail in their cases despite being hit with similar charges.

#6

#7

During a clip of the show released on Friday, September 19, after Diddy’s second bail denial, Charlamagne explained that he cannot “wrap” his mind around “someone having so much to lose and moving the way he was moving.”

“It just makes me think that man doesn’t have not one single, solitary friend around him,” Charlamagne said. “…All you need is one who cares about to say ‘Hell no!’… Somebody should’ve been there to tell Sean Combs to grow up, or maybe he didn’t listen because he’s too far gone.”

#8

Ultimately, Charlamagne explained that he believes “reality” is going to hit Diddy “hard” while he’s sitting in a jail cell.

“Whatever he is running from, he can’t run no more,” he concluded.

#9

#10

Boosie

Per The Shade Room, on September 18, Boosie took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to Diddy’s indictment. In an initial tweet, the rapper explained that he feels Diddy is in jail for “doing what every other famous entertainer has done.” The only difference, Boosie noted, is that Diddy is “just freakier.”

Ultimately, the rapper stated that he disagrees with Diddy’s federal charges.

#11

#12

Furthermore, in a follow-up tweet, Boosie elaborated on his stance by explaining that he feels the action of transporting individuals for sexual activity in exchange for money “will be a tool used to take down hip hop artists [and] celebrities.”

“THINK ABOUT IT THIS S**T REAL… IF U FLY A CHICK N YALL TURN UP N U GIVE HER A LIL CHANGE SO SHE STRAIGHT WHEN SHE GO GOME THATS #sextrafficking…#rappers #athletes #dboys #Politicans BE CAREFUL WHO U FLY N” he wrote.

#13

Shyne

According to PennLive.com, Shyne Barrow, a former Bad Boy artist, reacted to Diddy’s arrest during a press conference in Belize on Wednesday, September 18.

While speaking, Shyne referenced a 1999 nightclub shooting in which he, Diddy, and Jennifer Lopez were present. The incident led to a trial in which the artist says he initially strived to defend Diddy against charges of possessing a weapon. According to Shyne, the Bad Boy leader allegedly turned around and “call witnesses to testify” against him. Ultimately, he was charged with attempted murder and assault and given a 10-year prison sentence.

#14

“So, let us not lose sight of what the cold, hard facts are. This is not someone who I vacationed with and who he and I enjoyed this great, intimate relationship of brotherhood. This is someone who destroyed my life and who I forgave and who I moved on and for the better interest of Belize,” Shyne, who is a politician in the country, explained. “…do I take any joy with what he is going through? Absolutely not. I am different than other people — no one needs to fail for me to succeed.”

#15

#16

Phaedra Parks

A few days after Diddy’s arrest, Phaedra Parks weighed in with her thoughts. The attorney ultimately explained that “everyone is innocent under our laws until proven guilty.”

#17

#18

Dr. Umar Johnson

In a series of Instagram Live sessions, Dr. Umar Johnson weighed in on Diddy’s indictment. The public speaker ultimately asked if the 54-year-old’s arrest should be likened to an “Illuminati Takedown or Divine Justice.”

“The Media & Legal Lynching of Yet Another Black Male Celebrity: Should Diddy Go To Jail 4 His Past Deeds Even if Found Innocent of any Federal Crimes?” Dr. Umar wrote in the caption of one of his live sessions.

#19

#20

Eboni K. Williams

On Friday, September 20, a new episode of Eboni K. Williams’ podcast, ‘Holding Court’ was released via YouTube. Williams described the indictment against Diddy as “dense.” Additionally, the host explained that she always believed the surveillance footage of Diddy assaulting Cassie would not have been released “in vain.”

#21

Furthermore, Williams chastised those who believe Diddy’s indictment is prosecuting him for the “salacious nature” of his alleged “freak offs” rather than his alleged criminal acts.

“Grow up, get unstuck, and read the rest of the f*****g document,” Williams firmly stated.

#22

#23

Ray J

According to TMZ, Ray J appeared on a recent airing ‘CUOMO’ hosted by NewsNation. The father of two admitted to attending previous parties thrown by the 54-year-old. However, the singer explained that he never witnessed Diddy commit the acts he’s been accused of.

Ultimately, the singer explained that the current controversy surrounding the mogul has led to divided opinions. However, he believes it’s important for everyone to “learn a lesson right now and ensure the next generation learns how to move differently.”

#24

#25

LL Cool J & Flavor Flav

Rappers LL Cool J and Flavor appeared separately on the red carpet at a recent event for the Black Music Coalition. While appearing, LL explained that he feels for Diddy’s children amid his arrest and indictment, but “the rest” he “can’t speak on.”

“That’s what we got a court system for, but I feel for his kids,” LL stated.

Additionally, Flavor Flav explained that he has no opinion or answers about Diddy’s current circumstances.

The comedian shared an altered clip from a scene in the film ‘New Jack City.’ The scene featured an AI-edited Diddy seated on a witness stand implicating an AI-edited Jay-Z in a crime. Additionally, the clip also featured an AI-edited Williams reacting to the moment.

Furthermore, Williams captioned his post with, “Diddy about to snitch on everybody…”

#28

#29

On Sunday, September 22, Williams returned to his Instagram Story to repost an NSFW video captioned, “POV: when you leave a Diddy party.”

#30

Rosie O'Donnell

Additionally, Rosie O’Donnell took to TikTok to share her thoughts on Diddy’s arrest and indictment. In the video, the comedian shared that she used to be the 54-year-old’s neighbor. However, she only directly interacted with him once.

According to O’Donnell, she and her family had been invited to one of his parties but had gotten turned away at the door. Diddy reportedly later learned of what happened and rented an entire movie theater for her and her family as an apology.

Speaking about his arrest, O’Donnell explained she felt “in shock.”

#31

“…how could a person live knowing that they had done that and then be a public person and continue to do it?'” she reportedly said in the video, per USA Today. “Didn’t he feel the footsteps of the law behind him at all times?”

Additionally, Knight called out other music industry veterans for allegedly not speaking up sooner about Diddy’s alleged crimes.

#35

Taye Diggs

According to Daily Mail, Diggs shared his thoughts on Diddy’s arrest and indictment while appearing on a podcast episode of ‘Sibling Revelry with Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.’ Furthermore, the actor explained that the news “blindsided” him.

“I felt so naive when I heard all that stuff because I was… I don’t know where I was, but all of it blindsided me,” Diggs explained. “He was a hero to me. I loved how he… he didn’t come from much, he started out as a dancer. All the things that I wasn’t, growing up, he was. He had so much confidence and a certain arrogance that I loved and he made being Black cool.”

#36

As Diggs continued, he explained that he had put Diddy “on a pedestal.” Therefore, the recent news about him has been “disappointing.”

“… it was disappointing to see some of what happened. I couldn’t believe it. And I didn’t like that feeling,” Diggs explained. “On one side, I’m like, this is great for people to know that this happens. We can think life is to be lived a certain way, we can think a person is a certain way and they can be the exact opposite and get used to that, you know?”

#37

Tokyo Toni

In a livestream clip captured by Instagram user @livebitez, Tokyo Toni also reacted to Diddy’s indictment. The mother of Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, told viewers, “Free Puffy.”

“We know what’s happening — the real ones. Yeah, free Puffy,” she said. “…Why is everybody mad at Puffy? Every celebrity in the world pointing they finger… what a set-up..”

#38

#39

Akon

On Monday, September 30, TMZ published an exclusive interview with Akon. During the conversation, the outlet asked for the artist’s reaction to Diddy’s current circumstances.

“I don’t have any thoughts on it,” Akon initially explained. “Stuff like that you can’t really get involved in. I think the [music] business itself is taking a shift… music hasn’t been the greatest role model for our youth.”

#40

Before concluding, Akon explained that he believes a “spiritual shift” is happening, and “we just have to sit back and watch.”

“Mind our own business, and whatever people are doing in their personal time is something they have to deal with on their own,” he said.

#41

Dame Dash

Furthermore, TMZ also caught up with Dame Dash, who labeled Diddy’s “current situation” as “disturbing.”

“You know, I’ve known him for a while, and there were things I didn’t know,” he said. “Now, I know.”

In a separate interview, Dash also explained that “seeing all the things going on” with Diddy “doesn’t feel good.” Ultimately, the music icon explained that he doesn’t want to take pleasure in anyone’s pain, “even if they deserve it.”

#42

Wendy Williams

On Tuesday, October 1, Daily Mail published an exclusive interview with Wendy Williams. The talk show host shared that she is “unsurprisingly relieved” that federal agents arrested Diddy and are pursuing an investigation into his alleged criminal acts.

#43

“What is really weird is that I have been told by so many people, ‘Wendy, you called it,'” she told the outlet. “Including some people from my family who have said the same.”

#44

#45

Aries Spears

Comedian Aries Spears has also weighed in on Diddy’s arrest and indictment. While speaking with TMZ, Spears explained that he feels Diddy is “innocent [until] proven guilty.”

“Diddy didn’t do it,” Spears added while chuckling.

#46

Additionally, Spears referred to Dr. Umar Johnson’s comments on Diddy’s arrest and reiterated that just because Diddy was allegedly in possession of massive amounts of baby oil, that doesn’t make him guilty of a crime.

“It just means you’re a freak. So you know, if that’s Diddy’s thing… as long as he ain’t doing nothing illegal, he ain’t did nothing illegal. So we gotta wait until we hear the verdict,” he added.

#47

Busta Rhymes

On Tuesday, October 21, Extra TV published an interview with Busta Rhymes where he shared his thoughts on Diddy’s indictment. Rhymes explained that the public should not view Diddy’s circumstances as a “hip hop situation.”

“…And we do know that propaganda is a real thing and we also know that the truth is a real thing. I like to wait for the truth before I, you know, really start to dive into trying to understand… The truth is undisputed. I think that we kind of, like, confuse ourselves, prematurely pass judgment, and we’re not realizing how much we can directly and indirectly affect everyone involved with our unwarranted opinions,” he said.

#48

Rhymes explained that he wishes “the best for everyone involved.” However, once the truth is revealed, he believes “justice needs to be served accordingly for everyone involved.”

“It’s unfortunate, because I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy, and I’m talking about for the victims and I’m talking about for Diddy. So, I’m gonna leave it there, and I’m gonna mind my business, and hopefully everybody can find it in they hearts to keep they opinion to theyself and just know that everytime you voice an opinion, you might be hurting somebody,” he concluded. “Now, I don’t dispute what I see. If I see something, ain’t nothing to talk about. But I wasn’t there for none of it, and I also think that for the people who were there, let’s think about them first before you think about your own opinion. Put prayers up for them all.”
