Claressa Shields doesn’t mind speaking up about her man, and in some cases, for him. At least that’s what the comment sections are buzzing about after Claressa and Papoose appeared on ‘The Breakfast Club.’ During the interview, Pap was asked about his divorce from Remy Ma, after years of being a representation of Black Love. But multiple times during the conversation, Shields stepped in with answers of her own. In response, social media users have been commenting on what she said and her body language!

Papoose Says Online Beef With Remy Ma Was “Corny”
About eight minutes into ‘The Breakfast Club’ interview, Loren Lorosa guided the conversation from Papoose’s growth from the streets to his ex-wife, Remy Ma. At that time, only Pap was on the mic, and Claressa was sitting in a couch in the background. Lorosa asked what Papoose what he was feeling when his black love dynamic changed publicly with Remy. The moment the host seemed to be referring to happened in December 2024, when Ma hopped online to blast her estranged husband and his boxing champ girlfriend. She accused Papoose of cheating, and it set of a series of clapbacks from him and Claressa. At this time, it’s unclear if Remy and Pap are officially divorced.
“It was corny. It’s always corny to do social media. Who wants that? Who wants to be a part of that, who wants to be a part of the circus. I just felt like it was corny,” he responded to Loren.
Papoose spoke about being attacked while Remy Ma was incarcerated six years, from 2008 to 2014. Then, the public narrative slightly changed when the couple featured on ‘Love & Hip Hop’ and other reality series. In response to a question from DJ Envy, Papoose says he doesn’t regret putting so much of his life on front street. Then, Papoose switched the conversation to his current love life with Claressa Shields.
“…I got a new queen in my life, and she’s one of the best things to ever happen to me,” Pap said.
Later, after a question from Charlamagne Tha God, Pap credited himself and Remy Ma for making black love and black family life “cool” again.
Papoose & Claressa Shields Talk About His Divorce
As the conversation continued, Charlamagne asked Pap if he really wrote 90% of Remy Ma’s raps. He responded, “No comment.” Adding that he wishes her the best, and emphasized that he never wanted public beef with her. “Sometimes your hand is forced…” Pap said.
“I wish [Remy Ma] the best. I got an amazing best friend in my life right now and we’re happy,” Papoose said.
Charlamagne then invited Claressa Shields to the interview table. While she was getting situated, Loren Lorosa asked Papoose “what happened” between him and Remy. He explained that everyone saw how he held Remy Ma down, especially through her prison bid. He seemed to be doubling down on his claims that she cheated on him. “Y’ll seen everything. How can I come to y’all and say something didn’t happen?”
Still, the hosts kept pushing the Remy-Pap conversation. After DJ Envy said he wanted Remy Ma and Papoose to fix their friendship and parenting, Claressa Shields weighed in.
“That takes time. It’s a divorce. It’s not something that just happens overnight, but people life don’t stop because of that. It’s papers, it’s time, it’s stuff that gotta happen, but at the end of the day, we move forward with our lives,” Claressa said. Pap jumped in at that point saying, “Like I said, I wish her the best..” and Claressa added, “Yeah, for sure.”
Papoose then tried to pivot to him and Claressa, saying they have amazing things on the books, and that she’s his best friend.
“We been together over a year and a half now. It’ll be two years next year in September…some of this stuff is just so old. It’s so old to talk about, to bring up, to keep harping on it. It’s like, they’re separated. She got somebody, too. Like don’t act like it’s just over here,” Claressa Shields said. “Like, she’s happy, we’re happy and that’s it…”
