Chile! A video filmed in November but recently leaked is stirring up the savage side of social media. DaMichael Jenkins, a Black real estate developer, and his wife live in an affluent Ohio neighborhood. While coming home one evening a few weeks ago, a white female neighbor racially profiled him and then lied about what went down. Lucky for the Jenkins family, a front-door camera caught most of the incident on camera! Now, the neighbor –whom social media identified as Michelle Bishop — is on the internet crying crocodile tears over her new nickname, Karen!
Meanwhile, DaMichael Jenkins and his wife recently discussed the incident on Shannon Sharpe and Chad Ochocinco’s ‘Nightcap’ podcast. Keep scrolling for a breakdown of their comments and what Michelle had to say for herself amid her white tears.
DaMichael Jenkins & His Wife Recap The Viral Racial Profiling Video
As mentioned, the racial profiling incident went down in November, but the Jenkins spoke with Shannon this week. First things first, DaMichael’s wife stated that they posted the home footage of the incident in their community Facebook group, which allegedly has about 500 members. Sometime later, the home footage ended up on the internet streets and ultimately went viral.
DaMichael Jenkins said he was arriving home at around 6 p.m. and admiring their home’s Christmas lights when he spotted a woman with two kids in his driveway. Despite not thinking much about it, he asked her if she was looking for someone. She allegedly ignored him and booked it to his front porch. He proceeded to park his car while the woman rang his doorbell. That’s when the three-minute viral video starts.
As DaMichael is walking up, she takes her baby out of the stroller and asks him, “Do you live here?” He responded, “Yeah,” and her reply was, “I don’t believe that.” She repeated it twice before moving to the other side of the porch, away from the garage, before leaving the home running, screaming for “Help” in a distressed voice while the stroller rolled off the porch.
“At that point, now, I’m in fear. I’m in fear because I know what we face as Black men in America,” DaMichael Jenkins told Shannon and Ochocinco.
A few minutes later, Michelle Bishop returns with her husband, claiming that she said someone chased her to the Jenkins home. DaMichael’s wife steps onto the porch, asks questions, and reveals that she’s his wife, while Michelle Bishop claims that he chased her. She’s heard saying “I’m sorry” at least twice in the video, and so is her husband. “Well, you just have to understand my point of view. Being by myself, I have two kids,” Bishop explained. Then, she claimed that she got scared by the incoming car and that he never claimed he lived there. That was her second lie, and the Jenkins called it out.
In their ‘Nightcap’ interview, DaMichael Jenkins and his wife confirmed that Michelle called Ohio police that night, too—something they feared would happen.
Jenkins’ Wife Claims Their HOA “Ghosted” Them After Incident
Later in the podcast interview, Jenkins’ wife confirmed that there’s now a lack of trust with their neighbors. In a shaky voice, she added that the incident made them feel “unwelcome and unsafe.”
“We have two boys, and he leads our family; he protects our family,” she said. “It’s a lot of weight, it’s a lot of pain, it’s a lot of emotion.”

The wife said she thought they would receive a personal apology, even some flowers with a note. But nothing ever came, not from Michelle Bishop, her husband, or their Homeowner’s Association.
“I reached out to HOA immediately after it happened…HOA ghosted me for lack of a better word,” the wife said.
Additionally, DaMichael Jenkins said he’s been in the neighborhood for three years. The real estate developer revealed that they lived in front of the Ohio neighborhood BEFORE building their current home from the ground up. He also said that he’d walk to the site in the back of the neighborhood every day. So, he recognized Michelle Bishop from seeing her on her porch with her family—two streets over from the home she harassed him at. However, Jenkins’ wife did not know Bishop, she said. Jenkins later said it could be 30 days before running into the Bishops because of the neighborhood size.

Michelle Bishop Sheds "Karen Tears" In Viral Explainer Video
All DaMichael Jenkins could think when Michelle Bishop said he didn’t live there was “the audacity.” He told the ‘Nightcap’ hosts that he had been to prison before, and transitioning out taught him to put pride and ego to the side and to control his emotions.
“I had to control my emotions in that moment because I knew where it could have escalated at. I’m thinking, well what if she had a gun? Would she have been running or would I have been running?”
As for Michelle Bishop, she went live on social media for 28 minutes on January 18 to explain what happened. Less than a minute in, she was already crying and refusing to apologize for the racist tone of the incident. She claimed to be receiving messages calling her racist, threatening her family, and telling her to publicly apologize to the Jenkins.
“One, I will not apologize for making any sort of racist remark. I am the furthest thing from a racist. I will however apologize that my expression could ever come across in such a way or that somebody could think something of that nature of myself of my family.”

As the video continues, she explains her POV of what happened. After running away from the porch screaming for help, she went over to a neighbor’s home, who informed her that a Black family lives at the Jenkins residence. Michelle insisted in her video that she told the neighbor and her husband that the man who was “following” her was a young white man, not Black. Later in her video, she said the neighbor wrote a letter affirming that she described Jenkins as a white man. She then explains that she apologized twice, but that the Jenkins did not accept it.

Michelle also said that on her way home after speaking with the Jenkins she saw the cop circling their neighborhood and told them it was all a misunderstanding. She then explained why she went live on social media the night of the incident and the next morning.
Again, she explained that the incident wasn’t meant to be racist and that she never named a Black man. Additionally, she said she went live in their Facebook group and apologized to the Jenkins.
“There was never racial intent, ever. What I will apologize for is sorry for sharing the story of me being scared. I could absolutely be slower to speak,” Bishop said.
Ultimately, Michelle said she’s not apologizing for overdoing her reaction and would do it again because of her past incidents of being followed.
“…The way that I acted, the way that I reacted I would do it a million times over because what IF. What IF that really would have happened?”

DaMichael Jenkins Shares Where He Stands With His Neighbor
Despite never receiving a genuine apology, DaMichael said he has nothing against Michelle or her family. He also revealed that he doesn’t mind being cordial because they all still live in the same neighborhood. Jenkins added that he feels like her showing up on his porch was an act from God for him to be an example of what emotional control looks like.
“I’m a real estate developer, I build houses from the ground up, single-family houses but I thought that moving to the most wealthy neighborhood in Ohio that this was the right thing to do. But maybe, my focus needs to be building communities that’s for us, and by us so that we can inspire people that look like us.”

Social Media Reacts To Michelle Bishop's Apology Video
In the last few minutes, Michelle choked back tears as she repeatedly insisted that the incident was not racial-related. She also claimed that her public apologies have not been accepted amid social media continuing to drag her and her family.
As of Tuesday morning, her Facebook apology video had over 8,000 reactions and more than 4,000 comments. The majority of the comments are DRAGGING Michelle and her apparent lack of accountability, but there were a few sympathizers.
Alishia Michelle wrote, “It’s the fact that you are playing victim that is crazy to me. You lied about what happened, and they have it on video. Now think if the police believed you? LIES can kill people.”
“Just apologize and say you were wrong. Stop making excuses.,” Danielle House Empie added.

“Michelle, I have no idea what happened but I know your heart. You are so sweet, kind and loving, and I trust you did right by yourself and your kids. Sending you love!!! Love you,” Dillon Hoover said.
Meanwhile, Whitney Boyd wrote, “This is the longest lie I’ve ever witnessed. Whewww I’m glad this was caught on camera.”
Sie Enyce went IN, writing, “There is no ‘what if’… The moment he confirmed it was his house you should’ve explained wtf you were doing & went home??? No one wants an apology because you’re scared. They deserve an apology because YOU racially profiled them & started screaming help & calling 911. You need to understand THEIR pov & the fact that you could’ve put his life in danger by involving the police… Thank Goodness they had cameras.”
Jennifer Gillis questioned Michelle’s POV. She wrote, “Judge Judy always says that you can tell someone is lying by all the extra details in their story. Girl you have a LOT of details in this tale.”
“You were not being chased, so why did you say you were being chased? It’s not a misunderstanding. This lie could have killed that man. Save the tears! The least you could do is take responsibility for your actions,” Mirma Prince said.
“Nobody really cares, especially after you said ‘they HAVE TO UNDERSTAND’ your point of view as if theirs doesn’t count! You traumatized that family, and you should be ashamed of yourself,” Wanjira Shera added.
“You want him to do 40 mph turning into his own driveway?! 😅😂😂🤦🏾♀️wtf you were running away screaming like a maniac,” Micole LaNae joked.
“You making it worse. sometimes it’s okay to just say sorry and accept accountability. This helps 0%,” E Tha Boss wrote.
“I believe the whole thing about your motherly instincts kicking in but you completely turned the story and started lying about how the situation went with him to make him look bad.Thank God for the Ring Camera,” Riayah Redick said.
