Photos & Footage Surfaces From Memorial Service For Angie Stone In Georgia
According to a post shared via Stone’s official Instagram account, an initial memorial service was held for Stone in Austell on Friday, March 14. Per the flyer, the event was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, the service was streamed via 11Alive’s YouTube channel. Since then, footage has surfaced online of the star-studded guest list, performances, and tributes.
Among those who took the stage included Musiq Soulchild. During his speech, the singer reflected on his relationship with Stone.
“She was one of the first artists that I worked with and the energy she had at the time was so magnetic. I didn’t know if she was my momma, my sister, my homegirls — it was just so much at once and I was just drawn to that energy…” he said.
At the event, one of Stone’s granddaughters, Journey, her daughter, Diamond, and son, Michael, even took the stage to each share touching speeches.
Furthermore, singer Keke Wyatt also took the stage at Stone’s memorial service. Wyatt gave a rendition of the song, ‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow.’
At the ceremony, Tyler Perry also took the stage. The TV and movie executive shared a touching tribute and a five-minute-long speech about Stone. During his speech, Perry touched on the “promoters,” “labels,” and “people not paying.” Additionally, Perry reflected on Stone “always helping people” and putting others on.
“You don’t got to forgive me because I’m angry at the way [she] was treated,” Perry said at one point before sharing a strong message about the “money owed” to Stone.

More Details On The Passing Of Angie Stone
As The Shade Room previously reported, on March 1, it was reported that Stone was involved in a fatal car crash after leaving a performance in Montgomery, Alabama.

Subsequently, it was revealed that Stone was traveling in a sprinter van with her team when the van “overturned,” per The Shade Room. Additionally, it was reported that the van was then hit by a “2021 Freightliner Cascadia truck.”
Ultimately, Stone was pronounced dead at the scene while the eight others in the vehicle were reportedly transferred to a hospital.
In addition to the celebration in Austell, Georgia, a second memorial service will reportedly be held for Stone’s family and friends in South Carolina on Saturday, March 15.
