Gervonta “Tank” Davis has shared strong words for Lamont Roach Jr. after Roach shared a few messages following their viral boxing match on Saturday, March 1. Additionally, Tank’s hairdresser has weighed in with their reaction.

According to the New York Post, the pair faced off at the Barclays Center. Tank stunned the crowd when he took a knee in the middle of the ninth round. Per the outlet, the move is usually assessed as a knockout. However, the match’s referee, Steve Willis, could be heard telling Tank, “You take a knee like that, it looks like a knockdown.”
Per the outlet, the fight continued without a knockout being recorded in Roach’s favor. Ultimately, the pair’s faceoff ended with two judges scoring their match 114-114, and a third judge scoring the match 115-113, in favor of Davis. This reportedly marked the first “non-win” of Davis’ career.
To note, after the fight, Tank credited his taking a knee to hair grease dripping into and burning his eye amid the fight. Peep his explanation below.
According to the outlet, Roach noted that the fight should’ve been credited in his favor.
“It should have been a knockdown. If that was knockdown, I win the fight. He’s saying grease got in his eye, but if he takes a knee and the ref starts counting, it should be a knockdown. It is what it is. I’m not banking on that knockdown to win. I just thought I pulled it out,” Roach reportedly said.

On Sunday, March 2, Lamont Roach took to Instagram to seemingly share that “part 2” of his fight against Tank is on the way.

Meanwhile, that evening, Tank took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share a now-deleted message reiterating his sentiments.
“They took the fight from me and made it a draw becuz I did that bulls**t knee..but I landed the most punches in the fight..he didn’t even hit me w a punch when I took the knee. I get it though, I shouldn’t have done that but that hair grease was burning my eyes!” he wrote.

Afterward, Tank replied to Roach’s clip with some strong words.
“Your b***h ass just happy you didn’t get knocked out..your dad was jumping up and down in the corner when yall made it to the 12 rd. Foh,” he wrote.
Then, on Monday, March 3, Roach reacted to Tanks’ message about the fight being “taken” from him.
“2 judges gave you that round bruv… if they scored the knock down I win by UNANIMOUS DECISION,” he wrote.

Subsequently, Tank seemingly picked up on Roach’s call for a “part 2” to their match and agreed.

Since then, Roach has seemingly replied with his own NSFW message for Tank. In the message, Roach suggested their rematch was already scheduled prior to Saturday’s fight.
“F**k you mean pushing n***a my contract already signed and set for the immediate rematch cuz you put that in there just incase you lost. Only reason we don’t fight is cuz u scared,” he wrote.
