“Knicks in 5” has completely taken over timelines and the streets of New York following the team’s historic NBA Finals win against the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday night. The city was the ALL THE WAY UP — literally, with folks hitting the streets to celebrate across every borough. And somehow, Jordyn Woods’ orange purse ending up joining the victory tour. Fans flooded social media with praise even crowning the bag a good luck charm after her fiancé Karl-Anthony Towns, securing his first championship ring with the team.

Knicks Fans Had The Street Jumpin’ Following The Historic NBA Finals Win
Bing Bong! The City is UP and was definitely outside after the New York Knicks secured the championship in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs. The Knicks pulled out a 94-90 victory, and the second the final buzzer sounded off inside the Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas, Knicks fans went OFF with reactions.
The victory brought the Knicks their first NBA title since 1973, and and fans made sure everybody knew it. From packed streets to loud chants of “Knicks in 5,” New Yorkers turned the the city into big celebration as they soaked up the historic win.
Chaos Erupts In The City As Knicks Bring Home The Championship
Even though some areas lit up with fireworks and cheers, other parts of New York was extremely chaotic. According to the New York Post, cops arrested dozens after the NBA Finals game. Officials state that at least 63 people were arrested, and reports also point to four stabbings and one shooting. Police reportedly hit folks with charges including assault on a police officer, criminal possession of a gun, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. Ten NYPD officers also allegedly suffered injuries, including one officer who was struck with a glass bottle.

Videos circulating online also show crowds destroying school buses, cabs, police cars, and personal vehicles. Other clips show dedicated fans waving flags, starting fires, and even climbing street poles, signs, and traffic lights.
