LisaRaye Says She Feels Conflicted About ‘Spend Dat’

During a recent interview with Carlos King, LisaRaye said she feels conflicted about whether to rock with ‘Spend Dat’ after realizing what Yung Miami actually says on the record. LisaRaye previously went viral for hopping on the ‘Spend Dat’ challenge, and said she used it to announce her TikTok account and to have fun with a trend. “I’m conflicted because I don’t believe in the words of the song. When I was listening to it before I did it, ‘I said wait a minute, what the f*** is she saying?'”

From there, LisaRaye told Carlos she understands why some people feel a way about the record. However, she still stands on the fact that she was just having fun. “It’s only for fun, it’s not to be taken literally,” Lisa explained.

Trick Daddy Tells Miami To Let The Haters Keep Hating

Trick Daddy also entered the chat about Miami’s viral record and he made it clear he’s sticking beside her and the song. He said she has the hottest record in the world and doesn’t understand why the song gets so much hate, especially from older women. He said he’s not here for older women trying to target a young Black woman who’s out here having fun, getting to her bag, and doing something positive.

“Every day y’all get on this internet and act like y’all life is peaches and cream,” Trick said. “Yung Miami you better not let these old raggedy b*****s deter nothing you are trying to do.”

Trick Daddy didn’t stop there — he kept going in on the women who had something negative to say about Miami’s song. He didn’t name-drop anyone, but he said music isn’t for everybody and everyone gets to choose what they listen to.

“Music ain’t for everybody. If you don’t like turn off your radio, close your subscriptions, turn off your social media sites. Get off Instagram, TikTok, stop the Facebook cause as long as you on there you gon’ hear it, you raggedy b***h.”

Additionally, Trick said he is speaking up on Miami’s behalf and encourages the ladies who rock with the record to go Spend Dat! “On behalf of Miami […] Kiss everybody a** in Miami if you think we give a f*** about how you feel.” He added, “Go spend that s**t b***h.”

Here's What India Arie Previously Said About 'Spend Dat'

It looks like reactions to Miami’s track kicked off after India Arie weighed in on the record. She jumped into the conversation on Threads after a user called for a boycott of the song and said it was downgrading the culture. In her post, India explained that the song’s acceptance points to a bigger truth. In the middle of the debate, she also clarified that she never wanted to boycott the song — she just said the way people embrace It says a lot about where we stand as culture.

“FOR CLARITY!! I did not say that I think anyone needs to boycott this song I said it is a sign of where we are as a culture that this song has been accepted so widely. And… THATS FACTS. I THINK – people should do whatever they WANT TO DO. you do what you wanna do. I’ll do what I wanna do. And that’s that. MEANWHILE I also said, that the way we are embracing the songs says a lot about where we are as a culture, which … IS JUST FACTS,” India wrote.
