On Thursday, February 22, ‘RHOA’ star Porsha Williams reportedly filed for divorce from her husband Simon Guobadia. Williams’ move came fifteen months after the pair wed in two grandiose wedding ceremonies, in which she memorably donned a reported seven wardrobe changes.

Now, The Shade Room is taking a look back on the rise of the pair’s romance and what seems to be its abrupt end.

 May 2021: Porsha Williams & Simon Guobadia Reveal Surprise Engagement

In May 2021, Williams revealed her engagement to Guobadia, per The Shade Room. According to Bustle, the announcement surprised ‘RHOA’ fans because Guobadia had reportedly just announced his divorce from Falynn Pina days earlier.

In an Instagram post shared on May 10, 2021, Williams revealed more about her romance with Guobadia. She alleged that their relationship begun a month earlier and that Guobadia had filed for divorce from Pina in January 2021. Additionally, Williams explained that Guobadia’s divorce was now settled.

Furthermore, she concluded her thoughts by explaining that she and her fiancé were looking forward to their life together.

Additionally, Simon Guobadia also shared his relationship update with fans, explaining that he and WIlliams had “chosen to travel together as one and spread love and positivity” to their community.

Porsha Williams Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors

A few days after revealing her engagement, Williams would have to shut down pregnant rumors while appearing as a guest host on ‘Dish Nation.’ At the time, Williams let it be known that a “shotgun wedding” was not going down on her side.

“I know it seems fast to everybody else, but I’ve been waiting for a love like this, and God answered my prayers, and he’s here, and I wasn’t gonna deny it when it was smacking me dead in my face, and so, I’m happy,” she shared.

While also appearing on ‘Dish Nation’ that May, Williams made sure to let the world know her romance with Guobadia was real real.

The reality star explained that she had her fiancé’s middle name tattooed on her neck.

September 2021: Porsha Williams Drops A Bag On Her Fiancé's Engagement Ring

In September 2021, Williams took to social media to show fans that she showered her fiancé with an extremely meaningful gift — an engagement ring.

At the time, Williams documented her making the big purchase for Guobadia while they both became emotional.

“So thankful,” Williams said in the video clip while shedding tears.

In her Instagram caption, the reality star opened up about the moment.

“I said yes and so did he. Yes we both are professing our love and reminded every time we look down at our left hand that thus is a promise and love that will last a lifetime!! We will be husband and wife and I can’t freaking wait! Love you Pooh!”

November 2021: Porsha Spills The Tea On How Their Romance Started

According to Screen Rant, Williams appeared on ‘Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen’ and opened up about her romance with Guobadia in November 2021. At the time, she explained that the pair connected via direct message on social media.

Cohen seemed to suggest that Guobadia reached out to Williams. Meanwhile, Williams seemed to imply that she offered words of support to Guobadia in return, although she never guessed they would fall in love.

“I actually told him, ‘I’m sorry for your divorce,’ and all of that because I know what that feels like,” Williams reportedly explained. “I know what it feels like to go through betrayal and hurt.”

Furthermore, Williams explained she and her fiancé no longer had any communication with Guobadia’s ex-wife and her former ‘RHOA’ co-star, Falyn Pina.

When asked whether she had any concerns about being Guobadia’s fourth wife amid him also coming clean about cheating on past partners, Williams appeared cool as a cucumber.

November 2022: Porsha Williams Goes Viral With Wedding Gown Mishap

In early November 2022, Williams took to Instagram Live to show fans pieces from her Amazon clothing collection. However, while trying to pan the camera to a model wearing an item from the collection, Williams mistakenly gave fans a good look at one of her wedding dresses.

“My wedding dress was in the thing. Take it down!” Williams screamed after turning the camera away from the gown.

The Couple Walks Down The Aisle... Twice

Then, later that month, the couple’s big day would finally arrive — two times. As The Shade Room previously reported, Williams and Guobadia would have one of their nuptial ceremonies in Atlanta, Georgia.

It was reportedly held at the Four Seasons hotel and featured 250 guests with traditional Nigerian ensembles.

Additionally, Williams reportedly referred to the event as a “true fashion extravaganza” and graced their guests with multiple wardrobe changes.

According to PEOPLE, the couple would have their second ceremony, a traditional American exchange of vows, at a Methodist church in Atlanta, Georgia.

This ceremony reportedly featured 350 guests.

February 2024: Porsha Williams Seemingly Tells Fans To Put Some Respect On Her Husband's Name

Last week, Williams appeared to be in good spirits about her marriage as reports surfaced that she’d be returning to ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ Amid the news, Williams also took to social media herself to confirm the information.

However, instead of just confirming that Porsha Williams was returning to ‘RHOA,’ she made it clear that Porsha Williams Guobadia would be on the scene.

“Who said that? ‘Porsha Williams coming back to Real Housewives of Atlanta?’ That’s false,” she said in a video shared on Instagram. “But Porsha Guobadia is in the building — see ya!”

Porsha Williams Reportedly Files For Divorce

We’re not sure what happened between last week and Thursday, February 22, but Williams reportedly filed for divorce from Guobadia.

According to PEOPLE, a source has informed the outlet that the decision was due to an “ongoing matter” between the couple.

At this time, Williams has yet to publicly comment on the widely reported news. However, Guobadia appears to be in good spirits.

Meanwhile, fans of the couple appear to be going back down memory lane, most likely wondering where things went wrong.
