Black Excellence popped out heavy on the red, well, purple carpet at the 2025 NAACP Image Awards! The 56th annual ceremony went down live on Saturday, Feb. 22, airing on BET and CBS from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California.
The night came with major moments, but it all kicked off on the purple carpet, where the biggest names in entertainment shut it down in top-tier fashion. Terrence J and actress Novi Brown hosted the purple carpet, with appearances from Chloe Bailey and ‘Dish Nation’ co-host Jessie Woo. The actual ceremony was hosted by comedian and actor Deon Cole. Both the ladies and the fellas pulled up looking GOODT for the event, serving dramatic statements in some head-turning fits you gotta see.

Kerry Washington
Kerry Washington brought full spring vibes to the NAACP Image Awards. She rocked a two-piece floral Prada fit, pairing a purple bandeau top with a dramatic maxi skirt that trailed behind her on the purple carpet. She finished the look with a half-up, half-down hairstyle and dangling earrings.
Cynthia Erivo
Cynthia Erivo gave sharp suiting an eclectic twist at the 56th annual NAACP Image Awards — no shocker there because she always eats at big events. Instead of rocking a gown, the ‘Wicked’ star popped out in a Dolce & Gabbana pinstripe Turlington suit. The ensemble featured a double-breasted blazer and wide-leg trousers. The actress topped things off with a crisp white button-down shirt and a black tie, keeping it classy and fresh.
She didn’t stop there! She flexed her long, bedazzled nails and blinged-out rings. Cynthia Erivo also rocked paperclip-style earrings and some small black transparent sunnies.
