Nick Cannon is getting transparent about his yearly earnings and responding to being labeled a “deadbeat dad.” As The Shade Room previously reported, the 42-year-old is the father of twelve children he shares with six women.

Nick Cannon Divulged How Much Money He Earns In A Year
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, Cannon explained that his “lifestyle” requires him to “generate at least $100 million a year.”
“When you think about my lifestyle, I have to generate at least $100 million a year.”
He then explained that many people view media personality Ryan Seacrest as having “tons of money.” However, he has to work ten times harder than Seacrest.
“Everybody thinks Ryan Seacrest has tons of money. I do everything that he does times 10. Well, not times 10 — times three. Because he does a lot.”
Additionally, Cannon clarified that his child support payments exceed $3 million per year, contrary to other reports.
“That’s not a lot of money.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, Cannon’s jobs include hosting ‘The Masked Singer,’ ‘Wild ‘N Out,’ and the ‘Beat Shazam’ game show. He also works behind the scene on multiple television projects and recently starred in an upcoming film opposite actor Alec Baldwin.
Furthermore, Cannon also hosts a live weekday morning show and a podcast. Outside of this, he owns his own entertainment company and is a part owner of a restaurant in Hollywood Hills, California.

The Actor & Host Responded To Him Being Labeled "Deadbeat Dad"
Outside of those multitudes of jobs, the outlet reports that Cannon is also studying to complete a master’s degree in child psychology and a Ph.D. in divinity.
In light of his hectic schedule and tribe of children, Cannon shared that he is aware of the criticism he receives and believes he’s been “villainized.”
“I’ve been villainized. I hear all the time: ‘You can’t be present for all those children.’ So therefore I get this deadbeat dad title. “
However, the 42-year-old isn’t set on caring about other people’s opinions.
“Right now the narrative is, ‘He has a bunch of kids.’ But I’m really at a place now where I don’t care what people know. I’d rather just operate. It’s more about really being a good person instead of telling people you’re a good person.”
Although he admits that he does feel “guilty” about not being able to spend ample time with all of his children, Cannon explained that he is focused on being as “present” as possible during their quality time.
“It’s not about what I do for you or what I say to you, it’s about how you feel when I’m with you. If you feel loved when you see your dad, that’s what’s gonna resonate.”

Cannon Shared Insight Into His Relationship With The Mothers Of His Kids & His Thoughts On Marriage
During the interview, Cannon also explained what prompted him to have children with his kids’ mothers.
“A lot of them are in the same age group. And I just wanted to give them what they desired. I kept saying, ‘I can handle it.'”
As for his thoughts on giving marriage a second try, Cannon is not so open. As PEOPLE previously reported, Cannon and singer Mariah Carey divorced in 2014 after six years of marriage.
“[As a man] who’s made his bones, you’re not looking to give half of what you built to someone you don’t even know.”
Despite this, Cannon shared that his children’s mothers will always be cared for and supported, explaining that “there’s nothing that they could ask [him] for” that he would decline to help with.
