NLE Choppa Explained The Viral Incident

The 20-year-old rapper recently appeared on ‘The Breakfast Club‘ and explained the viral moment was not what internet users perceived it to be.

“Sexyy Red — she got down, and she was actually doing something else. She was on her knees — kind of like performing to the camera… And in the process, she got down, and she was like, ‘Yeah, grab my hair…'”

The rapper explained that when he grabbed her hair, things “just went from there.”

“So it wasn’t like, ‘Yo, get down. I’m finna walk you like a dog for the video.'”

The Rapper Called The Moment A "Learning Experience"

Choppa explained that despite the public’s misunderstanding, he’s come to regard the moment as a “learning experience.”

“Everything’s like a learning experience. I know how sensitive the world is, and I know the type of person I am as well. I do a lot of good [and] I feel like I was kind of getting attacked in that area.”

However, the 20-year-old also shared that he believes the public attacked “the wrong person.”

“I’ve watched people degrade women in real life… and I feel like, with me having fun [as a] 20-year-old male… with the girls that wanted me to do it, I feel like what is the conversation really about?”

Charlamagne Tha God, a cohost on the radio show, questioned NLE Choppa about whether the women told him to hold them that way.

“Yeah, but in the process as well, I had to look at the other side and say, ‘Yo, I’m going to take accountability.’ I feel like people expected more out of me because… of what I practice and what I preach. And it just didn’t look the same…”

The 20-Year-Old Previously Spoke Out Against Criticism Of The Music Video

Shortly after snippets of the music video went viral and garnered backlash, NLE Choppa took to social media to defend himself.

As previously reported by The Shade Room, the rapper encouraged critics to learn the difference between “real life” and “entertainment.”

“This is for entertainment purposes only. The women was handled with respect the whole day!! An also everything that was done they insisted I was going with there flow and just having fun during the process.”

Additionally, he shared a few more words.

“We have to learn the difference between entertainment and real life as a whole. We’re entertainers; our job is to entertain y’all.”

The music video has since been released and is called “Sl*t Me Out Remix.”
