Mo’Nique and her son Shalon are continuing to address their connection issues in front of the world.
After Mo released their past private messages on Valentine’s Day, her son called her out on Thursday (Feb.15). He accused her of choosing a poor response to his initial comments about their bond.
“I guess the intelligent thing to do in assuming your son is having a mental episode is to post personal screenshots that are three years old in an attempt to validate some false narrative as if they are some type of receipt. You also invaded the privacy of my daughter’s grandparents by posting your receipts. Neither of you should never speak on mental health if you thought that that idea was a good one.”
Shalon said people have taken their lives and harmed others in reaction to similar “leaked” information instances. He implied that his mother and stepfather Sidney Hicks are “proud” of how they’re responding and that his mother’s fanbase is patting her on the back for her “toxicity.”
He said if his mother was actually concerned about his mental health status, she’d pick up the phone and call him.

Nique, Sidney Hicks & Shalon Have Taken Their Private Matters Public All Week
As previously reported, Mo’Nique and her husband have been sharing words with her son (his stepson) for the last few days. They responded to Shalon after he accused Mo of spreading a fake narrative about their mother-son connection.
In their response, Mo and Sidney said they’re entertaining the private matters publicly because it’s a necessary conversation. According to Sidney, they’re hoping, in their own way, to set an example for needed conversations in Black families.
“We need to stop being embarrassed about being human beings and about being Black human beings. You will oftentimes hear, “You are embarrassing yourself in front of them.’ Who is them?”
As for Mo’Nique, in the same livestream, she suggested she would let things play out with Shalon.
“There are some people that are saying ‘Oh you should be ashamed of your mothering skills, you should be ashamed of yourself. This is what I say, ‘Let’s let it play out.’ Because the same ones that were saying oh, I was crazy, I was deranged, we watched it play out. So just like with my son, we’re going to watch this play out,” Mo’Nique said.
