More Details On Young Thug’s Non-Negotiated Plea Deal In The YSL RICO Trial
As The Shade Room previously reported, Thug’s legal team announced his intent to accept a non-negotiable plea deal in his trial on Thursday, October 31. To note, the proceedings officially kicked off in November 2023. The date marked over a year after the rapper was arrested on racketeering and conspiracy charges in May 2022.
Furthermore, on October 31, it was announced that Thug pled guilty to six counts of gang-related activity. Additionally, he pled no contest to one count of leading a criminal street gang and one count of conspiracy to violate the RICO act.
Lastly, it was revealed that the prosecution wanted Thug to be sentenced to 25 years in prison. Additionally, the prosecution also wanted Thug to receive 20 years probation.

More Details On Young Thug’s Sentence
According to Complex, Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker ultimately sentenced Young Thug to 40 years to serve the first five in prison, commuted to time already served. Additionally, Judge Whitaker ordered Thug to serve 15 years of probation which will be “backloaded” with 20 years served in custody if he is unsuccessful.

More On The Conditions Of Young Thug's Sentence
Per The Shade Room, conditions of Young Thug’s release from prison include his being forbidden to contact other defendants in the YSL case. However, the judge made an exception for Thug to contact his brother, Quantavious Grier, and Gunna.
Additionally, Thug received a 10-year ban from the metro Atlanta area. However, he is required to hold four concerts or presentations advocating against gang violence. Although Thug has been granted the freedom to travel for work-related opportunities, he is also forbidden from promoting gangs in any way.
