Health is wealth! “Juice” singer Lizzo shared yesterday on TikTok that she did New York Times bestselling author JJ Smith’s 10-Day Smoothie Cleanse and it sparked quite a debate on social media. The cleanse has multiple benefits, according to JJ. It helps to jump-start weight loss, increase energy level, soothe your mind, and make you feel healthier than ever.
Lizzo displayed her 10-day progress, detailing her experience start to finish. She said,” So I drank a lot, and I ate a lot of food and fu**ed my stomach up in Mexico. So I decided to do JJ Smith’s 10-day Smoothie Cleanse. This is day one right here…It’s just basically you drink these green smoothies every day.”
She continues going on throughout the week, showing off her weight loss in the videos. “The hardest day was day four, five, and six. I was like, ugh, it started to get to me mentally, but I was never super hungry. I think I was wanting to stress eat and do things that were like self-harming,” Lizzo said. She continued saying that she felt amazing by the final day and it was a good reset for her stomach.
Many people had things to say, so much so that she started trending on Twitter. Some didn’t understand why there was so much hate. One user tweeted, “So Lizzo decides to diet, and y’all mad because she can’t be skinny, but y’all the same ones making fun of her for being thick. I swear y’all hate to see these bad bit**es win.”
Today, Lizzo responded to the hate on TikTok. She said, “I did the 10-day smoothie detox, and as you know, I would normally be so afraid and ashamed to post things like this online because I feel like as a big girl, people just expect if you are doing something for health, you’re doing it for like a dramatic weight loss, and that is not the case. In reality, November stressed me the f**k out. I drank a lot. I ate many spicy things and things that f**ked my stomach up, and I wanted to reverse it in gear back to where I was. “
She continued, “I’m so proud of myself. I’m proud of my results. My sleep has improved, my hydration, my inner peace, my mental stability, my body, the whites of my eyes. I think like that’s it. I’m a big girl who did a smoothie detox and wanted to share that with you guys. I got exactly what I wanted out of it.”
