Mom’s Alleged Fight With High School Teen Leads To Serious Consequences
On Tuesday, August 12, at around 11 a.m., a physical altercation broke out outside Brentwood High School in Long Island, according to ABC 7 NY. Evans, after attending summer classes, was said to have been arguing with a 15-year-old classmate, who was later identified as Monroe’s daughter. Things escalated fast. Monroe, who was at the school reportedly to address bullying concerns involving her daughter, allegedly snapped.
Police say she allegedly grabbed her daughter’s metal Stanley Cup and repeatedly hit Evans across the head. The injuries included an open wound on her forehead that required 17 stitches to close. According to reports, a school security guard jumped in to stop the attack, with Monroe later arrested in the parking lot. She has since been hit with two felony counts of second-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child. Monroe’s lawyer claims her daughter was the real victim, bullied by Evans and others. But police say Monroe’s response crossed a dangerous line.
What Has Madison Evans Said About The Alleged Attack
Madison Evans, who’s a soon-to-be sophomore at Brentwood High, spoke out about the altercation. “Her mom just came in and started beating me with the cup,” Evans told ABC7’s Eyewitness News. “I took my head because I saw blood dripping. I saw blood all over my hands.”
The 14-year-old described how the argument with Monroe’s daughter quickly turned physical, with viral video footage showing the older teen in a lavender shirt exchanging words before Monroe, wearing a yellow tank top, allegedly unleashed her fury. Evans’ cousin, Tyleen Smith, captured the incident on her phone, showing Monroe hitting the teen as security struggled to intervene. “She could’ve died,” said Evans’ guardian, Shameakca Forney.

Here’s How The Brentwood Superintendent Of Schools Responded To The Incident
Meanwhile, Brentwood Superintendent of Schools Wanda Ortiz-Rivera didn’t hold back in her response to the incident. In a letter sent to parents and staff, she addressed the fight that had made national headlines.
“We are aware of the incident that occurred yesterday during dismissal involving two students and a parent,” she wrote, per the New York Post. “The safety and well-being of our students is always our highest priority, and this type of behavior is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in our schools.”
The superintendent’s message stressed the school’s zero tolerance for violence. While Ortiz-Rivera didn’t name Monroe or Evans, her letter suggested that they were taking the matter seriously.
Monroe was released with a GPS monitor after her arraignment in First District Court in Central Islip on Wednesday, August 13, with an order of protection barring her from contacting Evans.
