Starting Sunday, Spell is asking people to donate their stimulus money to North American evangelists, missionaries or music ministers who haven’t received any money from parishioners in the past month.

Spell is not included in this challenge because he’s kept his church doors open, most recently on Easter Sunday despite warnings and concerns about public health.

Spell didn’t clarify if his challenge requires people to donate some or all of their stimulus check, but he says he’s practicing what he’s preaching by donating all of his $1,200 and so is his wife.

Churches, like other organizations, are also facing difficult times but a good majority of churches across the nation were still able to hold Easter services virtually this past weekend despite being closed to the public.
