Yes! You definitely read right, the classic film starring Larenz Tate and Nia Long will be coming to the stage in the form of a musical.
According to Vibe, MC Lyte announced the news after she posted the poster for the musical on her official Instagram account.
The film directed by Theodore Witcher, released in 1997, followed the love story of Darius Lovehall and Nina Mosely. Nineteen years later and there are still love poems from the film that we all memorize.
The cast for the musical includes, Musiq Soulchild, Chrisette Michelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Dave Hollister, Raheem DeVaughn and of course MC Lyte.
