Malia Obama Joins Dakota Access Pipeline Protest

President Donald Trump has only been in office for about a week and Malia Obama isn’t about to let him mess up what her father started!

According to USA Today, Malia attended the Sundance Film Festival. On Monday, she went to an event supporting the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s protest against Dakota Access Pipeline on Monday.

The story only began to get a lot of attention after actress and anti-DAP activist Shailene Woodley spoke about it in an interview with the  DemocracyNow.org.

“It was amazing to see Malia,” the actress said.

She continued,

“To witness a human being and a woman coming in to her own outside of her family and outside of the attachments that this country has on her, but someone who’s willing to participate in democracy because she chooses to,” Woodley said. “Because she recognizes, regardless of her last name, that if she doesn’t participate in democracy, there will
be no world for her future children.”
