On Monday, August 11, Hot 97 published footage via YouTube of Mariah The Scientist stopping by the radio station for an exclusive conversation with Nessa Diab for ‘Nessa on Air.’ About thirty minutes into their sitdown, Diab asked Mariah to share advice she has for navigating a blended family and ensuring she has a cordial relationship with the mothers of Young Thug’s children.
In response, Mariah explained she used to believe she would never date a man with kids. However, she ended up falling in love with Thug, who, she says, has six children.
“In the beginning, it was harder — it definitely was rougher because they’re kids, so already you don’t want to be too… present or it’s someone else’s child, and I just feel like the more our relationship grew, the more my relationship has grown with his kids and I feel like we have great relationships,” she said. “We talk on the phone all day long and I feel like they be calling me before they call him, and I’m like, ‘Call yo daddy! Call him!'”
Ultimately, Mariah shared that her stepchildren are super “playful” and have taught her “a lot of things.” Additionally, she shared that women who don’t want to date men with kids shouldn’t pre-judge a situation. Lastly, she explained that the experience has taught her “more about a family unit” than she “could’ve imagined.”

As The Shade Room previously reported, in May, photos of the singer, Thug, his son Jahmir, his son’s mother Kameme, and two more of his children surfaced on social media. Furthermore, the group was celebrating Jahmir’s graduation.
