Marshawn Lynch will officially be back on the football field. He and the Seattle Seahawks have just closed a deal, that will have him on their roster once again.
According to Sports Illustrated, the news of Marshawn and the Seahawks reunion comes after news started to circulate that they were open to the reunion and that Marshawn had planned to meet with the team on Monday, and take a physical as well.
His agent Doug Hendrickson tweeted about the moment and said, “My son @MoneyLynch is back! Boom let’s go!” News about his deal with the team comes after two of Seattle’s running backs were recently injured.
This is Marshawn’s second time coming out of retirement. He played with the Seahawks from 2010-2015 and won a Super Bowl with them back in 2014. He later retired following the 2015 season, but later applied for reinstatement in 2017.
The Seahawks traded him to the Oakland Raiders where he played for two seasons, however, he retired again after the 2018 season.
Aside from welcoming Marshawn back to the team, the Seahawks also signed Robert Turbin, who played with the team for the first three years of his NFL career.
