Masika Kalysha's Team Claims UMC Has Not Reached Out To Them Or Her About Being Released From ‘Double Cross’ & She Apologizes For The Delivery Of Her Message (Exclusive Details)

Masika Kalysha’s Team Claims UMC Has Not Reached Out To Them Or Her About Being Released From ‘Double Cross’ & She Apologizes For The Delivery Of Her Message (Exclusive Details)

Earlier this week Masika Kalysha caught some backlash for the way she decided to bring awareness to women and children that are victims of sex trafficking. She uploaded the video while she was on the set of the UMC show “Double Cross,” and explained her reason for the video.

Ultimately, the video caused Masika to lose her role on the show, and on Friday, UMC released a statement stating that they have decided to part ways with Masika and recast her role following the incident.

Masika’s team exclusively revealed to us that UMC has not reached out to Masika’s representation or legal counsel to confirm that she has been released. Nor have they made any contact with Masika or her team directly.

Masika spoke out in an exclusive statement, and said,” I am aware that the way I went about it was distasteful, and I apologize to anyone whom I have offended or hurt with my delivery. However, I am incredibly grateful that we now have an open dialogue to refocus our attention on what matters most. I urge everyone to join me in my efforts to bring awareness to this awful reality. But most importantly, I urge everyone to help put an end to human trafficking.”

Check out her full statement below:

As we previously reported, after Masika posted the video Tuesday night, it didn’t sit too well with people, and she immediately uploaded another video where she explained her reason for the video. She said she joined forces with the R.O.S.E Organization, who works with women and children who have been sex trafficked. However, the president of the organization said she never signed off and approved of Masika’s promotional video.

“Double Cross,” is a scripted series on UMC about two siblings who team up to save women in their neighborhood from being sex trafficking victims.
