Mehgan James is defending her recent podcast interview with musician Jhonni Blaze after asking Blaze to “prove” she’s not a “crackhead.” As The Shade Room previously reported, James also issued an apology to rapper Yung Joc after downplaying his career during an interview earlier this year.

Meghan James Asks Jhonni Blaze To Take A Drug Test During Recent Interview
Jhonni Blaze appeared as a recent guest on Meghan James’ podcast, ‘The Hollywood Group Chat.’ During the conversation, James referred to Blaze’s ex-boyfriend accusing her of being a “crackhead.” Then told Blaze she brought her a drug test and asked her to “prove” that she is “no longer a crackhead.”
Additionally, James then asks for the name of the “makeup artist on set.” Then asks the artist to supervise Blaze as she takes the test offscreen.
“Bri, the makeup artist, is going to go with Jhonni to take the drug test because she says she’s not a crackhead anymore…”
Social Media Reacts To Mehgan James’ Interview with Jhonni Blaze
Social media users quickly reacted to Jame’s questioning of Blaze in The Shade Room’s comment section. Many criticized the host for being “rude af” and “unprofessional.”

James Alleges That Jhonni Blaze Came Up With The Drug Test Idea
After receiving the backlash, James returned to Instagram to share behind-the-scenes interview footage. As well as alleged details of how the interview with Blaze, and the drug test idea, came about.
James explained that Blaze repeatedly asked for an interview with her.
“Y’all are always quick to say something but never but y’all never know what goes on behind the scenes – girls Be SO FAKE and this is why I don’t do FAVORS! Johnni hmu 5,000 times asking me to interview her . & would also hit up mutual friends to ask if I would interview her !…”
She then explained that Blaze allegedly made up the idea for the two to do a drug test during the interview.
“Johnni came up with the drug test IDEA HER SELF , bc she wanted to clear her name and she knew it would go viral if I asked if she was REALLY A CRACK HEAD, so I asked bc idc !!! IT WAS HER IDEA!!!!!!”
James then criticized Blaze for behaving like a “victim” in the ordeal.
“So the fact that she’s playing victim is crsxy to me!!!! Swipe for receipts!!!!! She even hit up somebody bc she felt bad about the backlash bc IT WAS HER IDEA!!!! Lol. Like girl you weird .”
Additionally, James explained that the makeup artist on set was separate from her staff, so she wasn’t aware of her name.
Blaze has since responded to James, explaining that the host chose to use “clickbait” which “backfired.” Additionally, she explained that James’ use of the word “crackhead” was offensive.
