Former ‘Real Housewives of Potomac’ star Mia Thornton is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. What was supposed to be a new chapter after her move to Atlanta has quickly spiraled into legal trouble. Now, she’s leaving fans, Bravo viewers, and the Atlanta community stunned and raising plenty of questions. Mia Fields-Thornton was arrested in Atlanta and charged with larceny after allegedly stealing furniture from a furnished rental condo before leaving.
She was booked into the Fulton County Jail on Wednesday. According to police and jail records, officers at HartsfieldJackson Atlanta International Airport were called to the Customs and Border Protection office after reports of a wanted person, which turned out to be Mia. Additionally, body camera footage reportedly revealed that Mia was aware of the warrant for her arrest.
So, what exactly led to Mias shocking arrest in the middle of an airport? Atlanta police allege that the reality star, along with a man identified as Jared McGriff, suddenly moved out of a Marietta Street condo in the middle of the night on October 28, taking furniture and a television. The stolen items are estimated to total around $11,000, according to the police report obtained by CBS News Atlanta. This all comes after Mia Fields-Thornton, who joined Bravos hit show in its sixth season, had announced earlier this year that she was moving to Atlanta and would not be returning to the series.
