The plot continues to thicken in Jussie Smollett’s assault case. Just yesterday, police reportedly arrested two brothers and potential suspects of the attack after raiding their home and seizing “a long list of potential evidence.” Now, we have learned that Jussie has hired Michael Cohen’s criminal defense lawyer, and former federal prosecutor Michael Monico.
Michael confirmed via “The Roe Conn Show.” It is unclear how long Michael has been representing Jussie. As many of you know, Michael represented Michael Cohen, Donnie’s former personal attorney. According to Page Six, he (Cohen) hired Michael Monico last month to help him as he faces federal charges “that he violated campaign finance laws and lied to Congress.”
If you aren’t caught up, Jussie was attacked on January 29 in Streeterville, a Chicago neighborhood. He claims that his attackers were two masked men. He further claimed that the two masked men tied a noose around his neck, poured bleach on him and yelled homophobic slurs and made mention of being in “MAGA country!”
The brothers, Ola and Abel Osundairo who were arrested were reportedly extras on”Empire”, the show Jussie stars in. When police raided their home, they confiscated a black face mask and some bleach. We also hear that the brothers were “present at the scene of the attack.”
We hope Jussie is continuing to heal from his attack.
