Missouri’s Secretary Of State Issues A Letter To Kanye West To Announce He Will Not Be On The Ballot Come Election Day

Welp! It looks like Kanye West’s name will not be on the ballot for president in the state of Missouri come November 3rd.

On Tuesday, Missouri’s Secretary of State, John R. Ashcroft issued a letter to Kanye West and then posted the letter to his social media account to pretty much let Kanye and everyone else know that he does not meet the requirements to be placed on the ballot as an independent candidate.

According to the letter, in order for Kanye to be qualified and placed on the ballot, he would have had to submit at least 10,000 valid signatures for the nomination of the independent candidate for president. However, Ye came up short and only 6,557 valid signatures.

Therefore, he would not be on that ballot come November 3rd.

Today our office issued a letter to Kanye West informing him of the insufficiency of his independent candidate nomination petition for President. The petition was determined to have 6,557 valid signatures of the required 10,000. pic.twitter.com/vxOSk8WCD3

As we previously reported, Kanye has been adamant about running during the presidential election. Earlier this month when Kamala Harris was announced as Joe Biden’s running mate, Kanye took the time to congratulate her and expressed his excitement to run against her.

He said on Twitter, “I know my mom and Kamala Harris would have been friends … congratulations on being the democratic Vice President nominee… all love and respect from the future president. It’s an honor to run against you.”

Missouri is not the first state that he is unqualified to run in. Earlier this month, it was reported that he was removed from the ballots in Illinois and New Jersey for having an invalid number of signatures.
