Maybe he got tired of hearing it or maybe Moneybagg Yo is finally ready to accept that he looks like William from “Girlfriends.”
It’s something fans tell Bagg all the time. Perhaps that comparison became more apparent when all of us were glued to our TVs for days straight rewatching the iconic sitcom when it dropped on Netflix last fall.
Moneybagg Yo has been compared to William, who is played by Reggie Hayes, perhaps in appearance only as the character was an attorney and proud of being a Republican.
Welp, you can’t say Moneybagg doesn’t listen to his fans because he decided to dress as his doppleganger for the music video to his song, “Time Today.”
In the intro of the video, Moneybagg Yo is sporting William’s signature baby fro while surrounded by a few pretty ladies, presumably taking the places of Joan, Toni, Lynn and Maya.
The women surround Bagg, similar to the TV show’s intro and theme song, except the title card reads “Bagg’sfriends.”
Moneybagg’s caption for the clip of his video read, “Surrounded By B****es I’m Lookin Like William “Time Today” Drops @ Midnight Video Drop Tomorrow GO!!! #ionLikeNobody.”
I think it’s safe to say Bagg has seen the memes, but I’m curious to know if Reggie Hayes feels the same about his “twin.”
While Bagg is all set to launch his new music and visual, there has been some rumblings that he and Ari broke up but some fans say their “drama” is just a ploy to promote their projects.
Ari tweeted over the weekend that Moneybagg was single and that she was heartbroken but pulled a full 180 on Tuesday, suggesting that she was going to get his name tattooed on her body. Is the couple going strong? We’ll keep you posted.
