Monica Speaks On Old Feud With Brandy Ahead Of Verzuz Battle: “We’ve Long Removed Ourselves From The Dramatics”

As we prepare for a trip down nostalgia lane, Monica spoke to Entertainment Tonight & discussed the upcoming Verzuz Battle with #Brandy.

When recording the classic “The Boy Is Mine,” Monica said the two ladies “didn’t overthink it.” Once the song caught steam, that’s when it brought drama with it.

“It was not something that I would say was anyone’s fault,” Monica stated. “We all added to it and after a while it became real,” she expressed.

Now older and wiser, the ladies don’t have to partake in any of the tension that others created. “We don’t have to do that [now].”

Explaining they don’t have any interest in the old feud, Monica says, “We’ve long removed ourselves from the dramatics of it but we’re gonna have a very in-depth conversation that may possibly be shared even with the audience because there’s a lot that happens, the fans have no idea what really took place, what really caused the initial friction,” she added.

As previously reported, Brandy and Monica will go head-to-head on Monday, August 31^st at 8 p.m. EST on Instagram and Apple Music.
