Whew! Roomies, Mo’Nique just won’t let Tyler Perry live. The actress is still not letting up after hearing what he said at Angie Stone’s memorial service earlier this month. Now, she’s breaking down why she had so much to say about his speech.
The Shade Room obtained a video of Mo’Nique choppin’ it up with Red Grant. During their convo, the actress continued to stay on Tyler Perry’s neck, calling him “hypocritical” while honoring Angie Stone.“What you will not do is be a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I won’t allow that, Tyler Perry,” Mo’Nique said.
Despite her beliefs, the comedian gave Perry props for being selfless, but she still threw a lil’ shade, mentioning that he always makes sure everybody knows about his good deeds. “Listen, when you do things from here!” she said as she pointed to her chest. “That’s between you and the universe.”
Mo’Nique sparked outrage on social media when she posted a long message on Instagram with a screenshot of Tyler Perry speaking at Angie Stone’s memorial. Before going in on Perry for his comments at the service, she showed love to Angie and her family. Then she turned her attention to Perry, calling him out for allegedly labeling her as “hard to work with.” She also accused him of allegedly asking her to promote ‘Precious’ for free and said she still hasn’t received an apology from him.
I recently watched your heartfelt speech at Angie Stones funeral, where you expressed frustration over her mistreatment by the music industry. It struck me, and my husband Sidney, as poignant, but also made us reflect on some unsettling discrepancies in your actions towards me,she wrote.
The Roommates flooded The Shade Room’s comment section with reactions to Mo’Nique’s new statements about Tyler Perry. Several folks called for her to dead her issues with him and stop carrying this unneccessary burden.
