Montel Williams Shuts Down Rumors Of An Inappropriate Tape Allegedly Featuring VP Kamala Harris

Montel Williams is standing beside Vice President Kamala Harris for the second time since she announced her bid for the White House. As previously reported, the actor and presidential hopeful dated for a lil’ bit more than 20 years ago. Now, he’s shutting up rumors of an indecent tape that a blogger claims features the VP.

Montel didn’t beat around the bush in his clapback to the tape talks. On X (formerly Twitter), he shut down the existence of any inappropriate videos involving his ex-girlfriend. Matt Wallace further pushed the rumors on X, citing a large tech company CEO as a source for a tape that’s allegedly being “shopped around.” He is to who Montel directed his message about Kamala Harris.

“Wow, I hear a blogger I’ve never heard of got millions of views claiming someone is “shopping” a sex tape of me that will “break the internet.” Let’s “break the internet” w/ truth — there is no tape,” Montel Williams wrote.

He further implied that Harris’ campaign surge “clearly has some people worried.”And the actor is right about one thing: so far, the election is heating up. According to CNN, Harris and Donald are neck and neck in states like Pennsylvania and North Carolina, while Kamala is up in Michigan, and Trump is pulling ahead in New Hampshire.

Montel Williams Sticks Beside Kamala Harris

As mentioned, in late July, Montel spoke out in defense of Kamala Harris after a photo of them together on the red carpet went viral. It wasn’t the first time he had addressed that same photo. When former Senator Kamala Harris ran for president in 2019, the picture was also a topic of discussion. At the time, he said they had “briefly dated about 20 years ago” when they were both single. Adding, “I have to wonder if the same stories about her dating history would have been written if she were a male candidate?”

In his July defense of her, Montel urged the media to “think twice about wasting time on a 20+ year old picture.” Not long after, he seemingly endorsed his former bae for president by retweeting Governor Wes Moore’s endorsement. Republican social media users and figureheads used the archival photo in baseless attacks against the VP.

While Montel is stickin’ beside Kamala on social media, he hasn’t said whether he’s already done so in the polls. Voting for the presidential election began on Monday (Oct. 28).
