Social media users are goin’ OFF with reactions to a clip of Megan Thee Stallion admitting she lied to Gayle King during a 2022 interview on ‘CBS Mornings.’
Editor’s Note: This article has been updated to reflect a statement received by TMZ from Unite the People, the legal team representing Tory Lanez.
According to The Cut, a two-hour documentary titled ‘Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words’ was released via Amazon Prime on Thursday, October 31. Per the outlet, the special aimed to “show the Megan Pete behind Megan Thee Stallion.”
Furthermore, the documentary reportedly followed Meg’s rise in the music industry amid the passing of her mother and the aftermath of the July 2020 shooting incident involving Tory Lanez, which left her injured.
Per the outlet, Meg referred to 2020 as the “worst year” of her life. Additionally, at some point in the documentary, she reflected on speaking about the shooting incident while sitting down with King in 2022. Per REVOLT, Meg told King she never had a “sexual relationship” with Lanez prior to the incident. However, during the documentary, the rapper admitted she lied to King.

Social media users entered The Shade Room’s comment section to share their thoughts on Meg’s revelation.
While Instagram user @ashley.brionne added, “Why would she lie then expect people to believe anything she says”
Instagram user @xxdbreezyxx wrote, “She already told the truth at trial”
On Thursday, October 31, TMZ shared an exclusive statement reportedly received from Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People. To note, the law firm is a non-profit organization representing Lanez amid his trial and conviction.
“The fact that Megan lied about her sexual relationship with Tory obviously makes her an unreliable witness. If someone lies in front of millions of people, how can you trust what they say any other time?” McDowell reportedly told the outlet.
Additionally, the CEO reportedly noted that Lanez is noting “previous false statements made by Megan” in his initiative to receive an appeal on his sentence.
As REVOLT previously reported, in 2022, King largely questioned Meg about the July 2020 incident during their sitdown. During the sitdown, King reportedly asked Meg if an argument was sparked between her, Kelsey Nicole, and Tory Lanez when they were leaving a party at Kylie Jenner’s home by car.
“It was [an] argument because I was ready to go, and everybody else wasnt ready to go. But thats, like, normal friend stuff,” Meg reportedly told King. “Like, we fuss about silly stuff all the time. But I never put my hands on anybody. I never raised my voice too loud. Like, this was one of them times where it was, like, it shouldnt have got this crazy.”
At the time, Meg explained that the argument escalated, and she heard a man yelling, “Dance, b***h!”
“He is standin’ up over the window shooting. And I didnt even want to move. I didnt want to move too quick. Like, ’cause Im like, ‘Oh, my God. If I take the wrong step, I dont know if hes gonna shoot something thats, like, super important. I dont know if he could shoot me and kill me,'” the rapper reportedly told King while recounting the incident.
As The Shade Room previously reported, Lanze’s shooting trial subsequently revealed that both Meg and Nicole had allegedly been intimate with Lanez, sparking the heated incident.
