Movin’ Forward: Angel Reese Says She Will Visit White House With LSU Tigers

In a shocking twist, LSU Tigers athlete Angel Reese is going back on her earlier proclamation that she would not accept the Bidens’ invite to the White House.

Specifically, as she’s a “team player,” she’s putting her feelings aside and will visit the Bidens alongside the LSU basketball squad.

Angel Reese Recalls The Impact Of Jill Biden’s Suggestion: ‘We Were Hurt’

Reese shared this update while appearing on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Friday, and she started by acknowledging her earlier stance.

As The Shade Room previously reported, Angel Reese stepped into the TSR Instagram comment section and addressed the invite by declaring, “WE NOT COMING. period.”

This announcement came on the heels of Dr. Jill Biden saying that both LSU and the Iowa Hawkeyes deserved to share the honor, which deviated from the tradition of only inviting NCAA champs.

Regarding this decision, Reese recently recalled how Jill Biden’s suggestion “hurt [the team] in the moment.” She added, “It was emotional for us because we know how hard we worked all year for everything.”

“In the beginning, we were hurt. It was emotional for us because we know how hard we worked all year for everything…That hurt us in the moment.”

The Athlete Says She’s ‘Gonna Do What’s Best For The Team’

However, on the heels of the LSU Athletics Department accepting the invitation, Reese says she’ll power through and join her team at the White House.

“I know my team probably wants to go for sure, and my coach is supportive of that. So I’m gonna do what’s best for the team. We’re gonna go. It was tough just seeing that in the beginning—but I think we’ll all come together and everything will be good.”

She added, “I’m a team player. I’m gonna do what’s best for the team—I’m the captain, [and] I know the team would love it.”

Of course, the Baltimore County native also acknowledged that it’d be good to visit her neck of the woods once again. She also shared that she’s excited to potentially see her cousin, University of Connecticut star and fellow NCAA champ Jordan Hawkins, at the White House.
