Muni Long & Keyshia Cole Speak Out After Keyshia Called Her Out For Giving Their Song Away To Another Artist

Keyshia Cole called out singer/ songwriter Muni Long, who is formally known as Priscilla Renea, for giving away a song after she paid for the sessions. Both ladies took to their Instagram lives to further discuss the situation.

The whole incident came to light when Keyshia called Muni out on Twitter and said, “It’s crazy how lame u are. But ima let it go! Like the song say! You got my messages Muni and for you to give songs away when I paid for the sessions! Don’t play with me FR.”

Muni later went on her Instagram live to explain the situation. She acknowledged that she did give the song to another artist and said, “She said she was gon retire. So how we supposed to know what that really means? She didn’t hit up none of us and tell us you know, ‘Hey I know I’m saying I’m retiring but you know let’s hold these songs.’ She said she was scrapping the project, and it’s no disrespect like no tea no shade, I love Keyshia. I don’t play like that, if it’s for an artist, it’s for an artist.”

When it came to Keyshia trying to get in contact with her, Muni said she saw Keyshia reaching out to her. However, she had been in a studio session with another artist at the time, and she does not like to be disrespectful and on her phone while in the studio. So she had planned to reach back out to Keyshia the following morning when she arrived in Atlanta, but she had seen Keyshia’s message on social media by then.”

Keyshia also hopped on Instagram live to speak on the matter and shared that after her marriage ended she didn’t know what to say in her music. That is when she started to work with different songwriters to help express her thoughts.

“That is a part of the game that I just learned. Being in a room with a lot of different people or a couple of different people or whatever. You going in the room with them and you telling them your story, you telling them what you went through, and they take a song that you created, as an artist that’s already established, that sh*t hit a little different for me,” Keyshia said. “How could you take what we spoke about, that I was going through and give it to someone else without speaking to me?”
