Is orange Naomi’s color? ‘Cause she’s going to be wearing it for 6 months! If you remember back in 2009 (rolls eyes, who does?), Naomi was involved in an event that left her photographer with a scratched eye and yesterday, she was finally convicted of assault by a Sicilian court.
According to Bossip, “…the incident occurred when the photographer, Gaetano Di Giovanni, was snapping pictures of the model with her then-boyfriend, Russian billionaire Vladimir Doronin, as they stepped off their boat in the Sicilian town of Lipari. Di Giovanni took photographs of the couple as they strolled through the narrow streets and did some sight-seeing, when Campbell hit him with her purse.” It allegedly took 3 days for the photographer to recover from his injuries.
Naomi’s lawyers had allegedly reached an agreement with Di Giovanni and got the charges dismissed, but the prosecution pushed for a trial since the charges were some-what serious.
In a statement aquired by E! news, attorney Guido Carlo Alleva said, “We are appealing the ruling surrounding the 2009 incident. Due to the ongoing legal process, we cannot discuss the matter further at this time.”
