NBA YoungBoy Wants Mormon Baptism After House Arrest, Admits He’s ‘Terrified Of People’ Despite Fame— ‘People Are Cruel’ (WATCH)

NBA YoungBoy is living the life of a recluse in Utah with his new wife and children while he’s learning to be a Mormon.

The married Baton Rouge hitmaker recently spoke candidly with Billboard from the comfort of his home. He’s currently on 14 months of house arrest stemming from a 2022 weapons charge. YoungBoy married Jazlyn Mychelle in January. The pair have a 17-month-old daughter, Alice, and a newborn son, Klemenza. The couple reportedly lives at the Utah residence with their mothers.

In the conversation, the father of twelve revealed he’s focusing more on life outside of music and business.

NBA YoungBoy Welcomes Mormon Missionaries Into His Home, Plans To Be Baptized

In the Billboard sit down, YoungBoy shared how welcoming Mormon missionaries into his Utah residence has led to him wanting to be baptized after his house arrest expires.

“I wanted help very badly. I needed a friend. And it hit me,” he recalls.

“It was just cool to see someone with a different mindset that had nothing to do with business or money — just these wonderful souls,” he tells Billboard.

The missionaries reportedly discuss The Book of Mormon with YoungBoy regularly. The rapper’s recent “Hi Haters” video opens with a quote from the Latter Day Saints tome, evidence of the church’s impression on him.

According to YoungBoy, the Mormon’s help him “make sure my heart is in the right space”; Billboard reports that he’s planning on being officially baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ the Latter-day Saints after his ankle monitor is removed.

The rapper touched on what sounds like having anxiety around people when he’s out in public. He told the outlet he’s actually “terrified” of people and admits he’s very shy despite his music being streamed billions on times.

“I’m terrified of people. I’m very scared of people. On my kids. I’m terrified of people, and I’m very shy. But I never know why, once I walk on the stage, I can get it done and leave.”
