Chile! Nelly wasn’t here forpress demands at a recent red-carpet event for his wife. The rapper andAshanti popped out to the Los Angeles premiere of the upcoming film No Address.
Shanti plays Violet in the movie about a group of unhoused people trying to survive on the streets. The new mom stunned in a ‘Crimson Eclipse’ ivory dress by designer Fjolla Haxhismajli, paired with strappy heels. The gown had a half-bedazzled, v-cut neckline and was cinched at her waist, emphasizing her postpartum curves. It also featured a subtle hood with a slicked-back hairstyle and one curl on her forehead. According to Fashion Bomb Daily, the shimmery gown will run you about $1,149. Nelly matched his wife’s fly with an all-black button-up, tie, slacks, and matching shoes. He also wore a diamond chain to hype the look!
In The Shade Room’s comment section, the roommates flooded the couple with compliments. Ashanti, who gave birth to her first child last summer, got the majority of the virtual flowers!
Outfits and poppin’ postpartum body aside, there’s another red carpet moment that has supporters cuttin’ up and it’s Nelly clocking the press. During their red carpet walk, photographers repeatedly pressed the rapper to give Ashanti a kiss on the lips. After one photographer repeated the request three times, Nelly responded with a sneaky clapback!
“I always kiss my wife,” he said.
Both the photographer who was pressing him and Ashanti gave a lil’ laugh. To keep it real, It’s unclear why he chose not to honor the smooch request. However, as we mentioned, it was Ashanti’s big night at the DGA Theater Complex. Fans will get to see the singer do her acting thing in the Robert Craig movie ‘No Address’ when it premieres in theaters on February 28.
